Gojo dragged his sister to find the others. The pair stumbling on Rika disintegrating into the form of a little girl. Rina stood staggering after her brother as he clapped, catching the attention of everyone."Congratulations. You managed to break the curse." He said proudly.
"Who are you?" They all asked confused. Rina looked up at her brother strangely until she realized he just didn't have his blindfold on. They'd never seen his eyes.
"I'm your good looking teacher, Satoru Gojo." He muttered disappointed. "I thought the theory Yuta came up with to be interesting. So, I requested an investigation into their families. The information about Rika's family came to me a long time ago, but Yuta's history was full of holes at best. That's when it finally came to light. You're the descendant of Sugawara Michizane, which makes us super distant relatives!" Satoru yelled excitedly.
"Eh?" Rina questioned in shock.
"Suga?!" Panda, Maki, and Inumaki asked in unison.
"Who's Suga?" Yuta asked hopefully.
"One of Japan's three great apparitions." Maki said.
"He was a super bigshot sorcerer." Panda chimed in.
"Tuna." Inumaki deadpanned, all while Gojo was cheering and yay-ing in the background.
"You were right the whole time, Yuta. Rika didn't place a curse on you. You placed a curse on Rika." Satoru informed him as he allowed Rina to climb on his back and lay her head on his shoulder weakly.
"That's right. At the time, I refused to accept Rika's death." Yuta said realizing what he'd done.
"Now the one who placed the curse had canceled the bond. As long as the person who was cursed doesn't seek retribution against you, the curse is fully broken. Of course, that much was obvious after seeing her in that form." Satoru explained and Yuta dropped to his knees sobbing.
"It was all my fault, wasn't it? I turned you into that form. I hurt all those people and I nearly caused everyone to die when Geto came after me. It's all... it's all my fault." Yuta cried, gripping his hair in his hands.
"Yuta, thank you for giving me more time, and letting me stay by your side." Rika said holding him. "During the six years I was cursed, I've been happier than I ever was before." She said cradling his head as he wept. Then she pulled away, his sniffling halting. "Bye Yuta, take care. And don't cross to my side anytime soon, okay?" She said smiling happily as her body started to dissipate in a gold light. "See you later!" She called before the blinding light took her to other side.
Everyone watched as the bubbles of her spirit rose to the sky. Yuta finally reaching acceptance as he stood and smiled at the sight.
A week later and it was snowing. Rina was better-ish, limping as she and Gojo were walking with Yuta through the broken schoolyard to the exit. She was littered in bandages, but most were covered by her sweat set.
