Rina woke up groggy and had no concept of time, she peeled her eyes open adjusting to the light of the room. Her mouth was dryer than sand, she could've sworn it. She reluctantly rolled over to see her arm hooked up to an iv stand, the bag squeezed into nothing causing her to use her brain to try and piece together what the last thing she remembered was. Rina sat up and ripped out the iv from her arm, taking gauze from her nightstand and wrapping it tightly over the bleeding wound. She saw her water bottle filled, grabbing it and downing as much as she could before her lungs burned for oxygen.Rina saw the bundle of flowers on her nightstand, tilting her head curiously. It was a mixture of sunflowers and Hyacinths, a strange yet somehow cohesive bundle. One she'd never picked for Tsumiki so she didn't think it could've been Megumi, but only two people knew what her favorite flower was, and Satoru hated hyacinths. She stood on her feet, her legs feeling like jello as she staggered over to her nightstand and saw a card propped up against the vase. Her fingers grazed the material, picking it up and opening it. There was only two words inside. Two words and it was all it took to make her grin widely.
'I lied.'
"Megumi you cheeky bastard." She whispered to herself, setting down the card and writing something of her own on it, then deciding to take some clothes into her bathroom and take a much needed shower before piecing together her memory.
Megumi woke up in a panic that he overslept, rushing up to the second floor and bursting into Rina's room to see she wasn't in bed. He stumbled inside her room, and only relaxed when he heard the familiar sound of a shower running. The breath he let out was filled with relief, casually glancing to the card he propped up to see it laying flat. He frowned thinking it fell, then stopped when he noticed the writing.
'I know.'
Two words. That's all it took for him to scoff. So much for doing something nice, and taking care of her for three days straight. His thoughts were disrupted at the sound of her bathroom door opening, seeing her wet hair and pajamas as she towel dried her hair.
"You seem better." He said not really knowing what to say.
"I feel like someone hit me with their car." She replied throwing the towel into her laundry basket.
"Are you okay? Training is gonna start soon and I have no doubt Zenin will make me run extra laps if I'm late." Megumi said wincing at the thought.
"I should be...oh! Have you seen my phone?" Rina asked curiously.
"Yeah.. it's on your dresser." He said pointing it out. Her gaze lit up upon seeing it, grabbing it and wincing as her stomach started throbbing. Her hand flew to it, holding it tightly. "What's wrong?" He asked taking a step towards her.
"Just.. go to training. I'll go to Shoko." She said straightening up and giving him the biggest smile she could muster as her insides felt like they were melting.
