Chuuya was sprawled on the couch, completely immersed in his book, determined to enjoy this rare moment of peace. But he could feel Dazai's presence hovering in the background, like a storm cloud waiting to unleash its chaos.
"Chuuyaaa~" Dazai called, his voice dripping with fake sweetness.
Chuuya ignored him, flipping another page. He wasn't going to give in. Not this time.
Dazai edged closer, leaning over the back of the couch, his face just inches from Chuuya's. "What's so interesting? I bet it's not half as entertaining as me."
Chuuya gave no response, his eyes glued to the words on the page, even though he had no idea what they were anymore. Dazai's proximity was too distracting.
Dazai hummed thoughtfully and, in one swift motion, snatched the book right out of Chuuya's hands, holding it above his head with a triumphant grin. "Oh! Let me read it for you! I promise I'll do a better job."
Chuuya's patience snapped. "Oi! Give that back, you idiot!" He lunged for the book, but Dazai danced out of reach, holding it up above his head with that infuriating grin.
Dazai's eyes sparkled with mischief as he dangled the book just out of Chuuya's grasp. "Aww, Chuuya, you shouldn't bury your nose in books when I'm right here, craving your attention."
Chuuya scowled, standing up to close the distance between them. "Craving attention? You? As if you don't hog it all the time."
Dazai twirled, just barely dodging Chuuya's swipe at the book. "But you're ignoring me! I've been bored for hours, and you're just reading? How cruel of you!"
Chuuya's teeth ground together. "Maybe I wouldn't be ignoring you if you weren't constantly annoying me."
Dazai, unfazed, flopped onto the couch, landing directly on Chuuya, his long limbs sprawling all over him like he owned the place. " You should just relax and talk to me! I'm much more fun than any book."
"Get off me, you idiot!" Chuuya growled, trying to shove Dazai off, but Dazai simply lay there like a dead weight, his cheek pressed against Chuuya's chest.
"Mhmmm, no, I'm comfy here," Dazai mumbled lazily, as if he were settling in for a nap.
Chuuya's frustration boiled over, his face flushed with both irritation and embarrassment. "Comfy? You're a grown ass man acting like a child!"
Dazai didn't even open his eyes, his body relaxing even more against Chuuya's. "That's because I'm bored, Chuuya. You're so boring when you're focused on that stupid book."
Chuuya's frustration grew, but he found himself unable to ignore the growing heat of embarrassment. "You're impossible! Can't you find something else to do?"
Dazai sighed dramatically, his voice dripping with false sorrow. "But you're the only one I want to spend time with! Everyone else is so dull. You're my excitement, Chuuya!"
"Excitement? You mean chaos! I'm trying to read!" Chuuya snapped, but even he could hear the weakness in his own protest.
Dazai propped himself up on his elbows, a playful grin spreading across his face. "But reading is so solitary! You need to live a little! Let me help you out. I can give you an adventure in just five minutes~"
Chuuya rolled his eyes, but he felt a tug at his heart. "An adventure? You mean your endless antics?"
"Exactly!" Dazai beamed, his enthusiasm infectious despite Chuuya's best efforts. "What could be more thrilling than that?"
Having given up on arguing with Dazai, Chuuya tried to return to his book, but Dazai began humming loudly, the tune irritatingly cheerful. "La-la-la, I'm just a lonely soul needing your attention, Chuuya~!"
