Aizawa POV
Nezu: You know where he is.
Me: What?
Nezu: You know where he is and how he's doing.
There's no real way to deny it.
Me: How do you know that?
Nezu: You would have asked how he was doing or if he is alright, when this happened, or if he's even still alive. But you didn't ask any of that because you know. I know that even if class 1A is no longer your class you are worried about the kids. You wouldn't put anger in front of health so you know his health to react angry instead of worried
Me: It's true; I saw him.
Nezu: It's okay. Only his shoes were found on a roof, nothing else. I feared the worst and looked everywhere. I would have let you go to help me with the Hero Commission and with finding him.
Tsukauchi: You want to let him go?
Nezu: Of course I do.
He was chirping
Nezu: He's a hero who plays by my rules. So he hasn't broken any rules. You know? He maybe broke rules of a civilian but not rules of a hero.
Me: You're not just going to let me walk out of here?!
Nezu: Of course not. I'll wait until your friends rescue you. They will definitely create a distraction. I'm curious to see what it will be. So, let's talk about Midoriya. He's okay, right? You've seen him. Do you know where he is? Is he still alive?
Me: He's alive, even if he doesn't want to be.
Nezu: He's with you, isn't he? I think that's for the best. The video of All Might celebrating a student while Midoriya is hurt will spread like wildfire. But that still doesn't mean everything will be okay. All Might has his fanatics. I think it's safer for him to be among villains who hate All Might than elsewhere.
Tsukauchi: So, unless he commits murder or something like that, he's totally fine.
Nezu: Yes.
Tsukauchi: What about the damage caused in other places? The Hero Commission will definitely use that.
Nezu: It's collateral damage. In every hero fight, things get broken. If I twisted the rules a bit more, you could even get away with murder. But I don't want to be that way.
Tsukauchi: What about them kidnapping the boy, more or less?
Nezu: I would say they took him into protective custody. Since they didn't really break any rules and can still be counted as heroes, they can do that. He was in danger when you found him, right?
Me: He fell off a roof. We tried our best to fix his injuries.
Nezu: That's good. At least one student I can be sure of and won't end up in the Hero Commission's hands. If everything goes wrong, there's still a chance. I've already received letters suggesting that he should die in a villain fight or at the Sports Festival. They even suggested an internship where he might die.
Tsukauchi: That's cruel.
Me: I never expected them to go to such lengths to kill someone.
Nezu: Take good care of him. He hasn't had an easy life. He knew Bakugo from childhood. He spent his whole life with that tyrant. I didn't pay attention and didn't see what he went through.
Suddenly, a portal appears, the size of a wall mirror.
Nezu: It looks like your friends...
Before he can finish, all the lights go out, and a massive jet of water bursts from the portal. I smell the salt in the air. The water gets more. Nezu jumps onto Tsukauchi's shoulder while Tsukauchi is trying to fumble in the dark with a big keyring to unlock the chains on my arms, as I'm still cuffed to the table.
Suddenly, a portal appears behind me, and I'm pulled through it with the table. I see Kurogiri standing on a wooden platform in the middle of the sea.
Kurogiri: The plan seems to have worked, Black Cat.
Me: What did you call me?
I freeze for a second, remembering how Oboro always joked about my hero name being Black Cat while Zashi made the joke with Ereaserhead. Kurogiri seems confused as he stammers.
Kurogiri: ... Eraser... Head.
But before Kurogiri can teleport us to the bar or I can respond to what he said, Midoriya jumps out of the portal he made for us to go back and dives into the water.
Shit. I am still chained to the table. I see Midnight jumping through the portal and diving into the water. They're underwater for a while until Midnight swims back up with an unconscious Midoriya.
