Nancy - Freddie's cousin

It was a Thursday afternoon and I was bored as hell in class (not that classes usually excite me). However, the time passed faster, since I knew what I was going to do in the afternoon. I left my dorm around 3 p.m.

It was a somewhat cloudy day and it would most likely rain. I headed towards the entrance of the college, where he and I had arranged to meet. I was really very happy to spend an afternoon like that. In short, the worries were over: no more rivalries, no more worries and no more limits. Everything seemed to have resolved itself and everything seemed to be going great.

<Darling!>

Freddie was early as always. And he was, as always, flamboyantly dressed. But that was also why I liked him. I had only known him for a week and all this had already happened.

<Hello, leader> I replied smiling at him.

<Are you ready?> he asked.

<I'm ready to do anything with you> I announced.

<You know, you're prettier than usual today. Maybe because we'll go shopping together?> he asked me again while stroking my hair with his delicate hand.

<I love you>

<I love you>

I loved conversations like that.

<Shall we go?> I said impatiently

Without asking me to repeat it, he took me by the hand and dragged me away from the college laughing. Call me cringe, but what I said was absolutely true. Now that we were officially engaged, I could do whatever I wanted, right? And I might even have exaggerated.

Like I said, the weather wasn't great. But I honestly didn't care. The weather was like my sisters. They could be against anything, but I wouldn't change my mind. I would have had all the water in the world, but no one would have ruined my afternoon. No one was going to ruin THAT afternoon. During the ride, he just laughed and complimented me, which I returned. His laughter also put me in a good mood.

We walked together to the nearest shopping center. I had already heard about how the place was huge and full of top-name clothing. In any case, I had taken out all my savings: I was going to spend it all there. But what excited me most was the fact that I would be shopping with Mercury, my dream.

We had already written messages to each other where we talked about what we would buy. He wanted expensive jeans, a new black shirt and a gold chain, one of those real "gangster" ones. I, on the other hand, wanted with all my heart some new makeup, since Jessie had taken all of mine. Regardless of what we were going to buy, it was just the day: a great day to do shopping. Although, for me, it was always a good time to spend all my money on makeup.

<I can't wait, Fred!> I stated.

<What are we waiting for, darling?> he urged me.

Okay, I know we could have had a conversation like this for another topic, but it's not important now. The important thing was the voice we heard behind us.

<Oh, wow... So even if she's your girlfriend you call her "darling" like you do with everyone else>.

We both turned. A guy with a kind of closed-mouthed smile stood there staring at us with his arms folded. Immediately, I noticed the incredible resemblance to Freddie. Yes, the eyes, the expression and even the skin color were similar. Maybe it was just me, but they were really similar. No, it wasen't me: they were almost the same. He looked satisfied, as if he were happy to have found us. I looked at my boyfriend: he had a totally different expression from mine. He looked worried and angry at the same time.

<What are you doing here?> he asked him immediately, pissed off just at the sight of him.

He laughed out loud, looking at us as if we were stupid.

<Ohh Freddie Freddie... Dawie informed me of the new arrivals> he explained.

Okay, it was a Dawie's friend. That means, he was a asshole, like him.

<The agreements say this is our area. You have to go away> he stated, trying to remain calm with no sucess.

<You're right. But unfortunately I had no other way to contact you. I have to propose something to you: a meeting between Queen and BohRhap. As soon as possible>

Mercury looked worried. He sighed several times before answering the other. He looked at him, like he was the worst person in the world.

<This Sunday>

<All right, darling>

<I say that. Not you.>

<Yeah, yeah. Don't worry... now, are you going to let me meet your girlfriend?> he asked, still looking at me with interest.

I felt taken into consideration, given the look the boy had given me. What did I have to do with that story? From the way they talked, I seemed like a bargaining chip. Mercury put his hand on my shoulder, smiling soothingly at me.

<You must be Nancy Hyde, right?> he asked me, narrowing his eyes.

<Emh, yes.> I replied, cutting him short.

<Much pleasure. I'm Rami Malek, Freddie's cousin.

It explained a lot of things. In any case, they didn't seem exactly on good terms. The tension between those two was quite high and I didn't want to get involved just yet.

<Well, now that the introductions are over, we're leaving> my boyfriend concluded, speaking faster than he had ever spoken. The other boy sighed as he gave us one last look.

<As you prefer... See you around, dear Nancy> he also concluded.

Ugh, but what had I done wrong to always have anything to do with it? It was the first time I had seen him and it seemed like we had been bitter enemies our entire lives. He didn't seem like a "bad-boy" to me, but from his attitude he must have had problems with Queen. Indeed, he wasn't the only one to have them, since he had mentioned something like "BolTrap" or "BoSlap" or something similar... Maybe it was simply another gang? The only thing I cared about was that it didn't hurt our relationship.

Freddie took me back the way we came, walking even faster than before. I had a lot of questions to ask him, but I already knew that his answers would be vague and elusive. I didn't want to make the situation worse but at the same time I wanted to better understand how things were. We were engaged anyway and we had to tell each other things.

The boy stopped suddenly, staring at the ground with worried eyes. Then he turned to me.

<Darling, you must forgive me if we didn't get to go shopping. I'm very sorry> he then announced sadly.

<Nothing happens, don't worry! Unforeseen events can happen, we'll do it another time> I replied smiling.

But instead, I was quite sad that we didn't get to spend a nice afternoon together. But he was already under enough pressure, there was no need to increase the discomfort.

<Listen, I can't explain anything to you now. But I promise I will, when the time comes. I swear to you> he continued, starting to walk normally again.

<You can explain to me whenever you want> I stated, putting aside my curiosity.

<Now, however, you have to make me a promise: also tell your sisters that, from now on, you will have to be much more and more careful when leaving college. Understand?>

Okay, maybe this was slightly scary. Everything is fine, but not being able to leave college seemed exaggerated to me. Also because students were usually afraid to leave college because of Queen and their "Sunday code". In any case, I knew that when Freddie said things like that to me, he was more than serious. And I should have listened to him.

<I will, don't worry>

<I love you>

<I love you>

I loved conversations like that.
