and here, the poet falls silent,
her voice has failed her.
her heart has broken all over again.
and her cheeks are now covered in tears-
a poet's tears;
the tears of resentment,
the tears of despair,
the tears of terror,
the tears of solitude,
the tears of hate.
but she knows she must keep going.
so she lifts her head,
and opens her lips.
