we could've had it all,

we could've proved them wrong,

we could've been the greatest.

i miss our secret places.

why'd you have to push me away?

i'd follow you wherever,

if it meant that you'd stay.

and i'm not going to sit here

and act like it's all your fault,

because it sure as hell is not.

we could've been great

and we let the world get in the way.

but i would still follow you to the ends of the earth,

if it meant you'd stay.

but i can't pretend it's over,

i just want my closure,

it's repetitive,

i'm stuck in my head.

can't let you go,

but i think i know,

it's fake,

it's a complicated mistake.

but i can't stop.

so,

i'll just sit here,

and imagine,

what life would be like,

if we were still

the greatest.
