Taelyn strode up to Candace, her steps deliberate, each one echoing the weight of unresolved tension. Candace, noticing her approach, looked confused but stopped in her tracks, her face a mix of curiosity and wariness.

"Taelyn?" Candace asked, unsure.

"Thanks for the gifts," Taelyn said, her voice carrying a calm edge, but the fire behind her eyes betrayed her feelings. "But let's be clear—nothing's going to change. You still hurt me."

Candace blinked, her confusion deepening as she tried to understand where this was coming from. "I was just trying to—"

"Save it," Taelyn interrupted, her words sharp now. "You can dress up an apology with presents, but it doesn't erase what you did. If you've got problems, don't dump them on me—deal with them yourself. Take them up with your butt for all I care."

Candace's face flushed with a mix of embarrassment and frustration. "What about Steven?" she asked, a note of uncertainty creeping into her voice, as if clinging to something familiar.

Taelyn paused, her eyes narrowing slightly. For a brief moment, an emotion flickered across her face—something unreadable—but it was gone as quickly as it appeared.

"He's fine," Taelyn said, her tone cold and final. She offered nothing more. No explanation, no further conversation. She simply turned on her heel and walked away, leaving Candace standing alone, her mouth half-open with the unspoken questions lingering between them.

Candace stared after her, feeling the weight of Taelyn's words settle heavily in the pit of her stomach. Everything she had tried to fix was crumbling in front of her, and she didn't know how to stop it.

She lets out a sigh, feeling extremely tired as the coffee courses through her system.

"Oh, I love history class! Someone is always leaving me a little piece of gum stuck under my desk." Adam smiles, putting it in his mouth.

"Adam, please tell me you didn't."

Adam blows a bubble with his gum and it pops.

"He did. He totally did." Bree gagged.

"Mm-hmm." Chase nodded.

"Could you get any more gross?" Mimi said, rolling her eyes. Adam started to talk, but she shut him down. "On second thought, don't answer that."

"Oh. Guys, don't look now, but here comes that guy none of us like. Marcus." Leo mentioned. Taelyn rolled her eyes, kissing Marcus' forehead.

Marcus walks over to them.

"M-dog!" Adam, Bree, Chase & Mimi said.

"Hey!" Marcus smiles.

"What's up!" Adam said.

"Wait. Hold the phone. Hold the phone, hold the freaky-deeky phone. "M-dog"? Leo asked, confused.
