❝You have ice powers?❞ Adam asked shocked.
Taelyn turned around, laughing as she looked back at her hand. She looked at him, confused. ❝What? You've never seen a girl with ice powers before?❞

In the redesigned hallway outside the lab. Donald humming to himself. "I got a new lab, I got a new lab. I got a new lab..."
Bree rolling her eyes. "Whoa, whoa, whoa. I think you mean we got a new lab."
Donald smugly. "Excuse me. Did we pay to rebuild it?"
Taelyn crossing her arms. "Do you sleep in a glass box?"
Donald grumbling but relenting. "We got a new lab. We got a new lab. And here it is." He gestures dramatically as the doors slide open, revealing the lab.
Inside the new lab, sleek metal walls gleam under the bright overhead lights. The hum of high-tech equipment fills the space, and holographic screens flicker to life.
Chase eyes widening, practically vibrating with excitement. "Guys, look at all these upgrades. Mr. Davenport, this place is amazing!"
Donald smug again. "Of course it is. I designed it."
Leo clearing his throat loudly. "AHEM."
Donald begrudgingly. "Fine. WE designed it. We, we! Upgraded capsules—bam! Quantum processing supercomputer—bam! Four-dimensional combat simulator—bam!"
Donald oblivious, basking in his own genius. "This, my friends, is what a multi-million dollar makeover looks like."
Adam peering around, hopeful. "Is there a mini fridge?"
Donald deadpan. "No."
Adam grumbling. "I bet our real dad's lab has a mini fridge."
Bree ignoring him, turning to Leo. "Hey, Leo, where's your workstation?"
Leo grinning. "This way, children."He steps onto a section of the floor, and suddenly, the panels shift open, revealing a hidden compartment. Adam jumping back. "Whoa!"
Leo smirking. "The floor in the lab is compartmentalized, meaning we can store things in it. May I? Bam!"
The compartment lifts up, revealing a high-tech console with glowing panels.
Chase gasping dramatically. "Is that a nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer?! AHH! I've never seen one in person before. It's so beautiful."
Adam smirking. "Should we leave you two alone?"
Bree rolling her eyes. "Mr. Davenport, how did you afford all this?"
Donald grinning widely. "Well, I used some of the money from the jet wing stunt, but the rest of it came from a huge government contract I just signed. I'm developing a rocket system to protect Earth from rogue asteroids. Thanks to this little baby, I'm on my way back up Rich Man Mountain, and WHOO, the air smells better up here!"
