Two months have passed since that tragedy. Events unfolded quickly, and now I'm truly bound to her.
We got married three weeks after she was finally discharged from the hospital. It was just a civil wedding, iyon lang ang hiniling ko dahil ayaw kong iharap siya sa altar. Lumipat na rin kami sa regalong ibinigay sa amin ng mga magulang niya, but we're staying in separate rooms dahil I'm not in favor of sharing one.
I'm doing my job as her husband. Inaalagaan ko siya, ngunit walang ibang kahulugan. Meanwhile, she treats me differently. I can see that she enjoys what she's doing to me. She loves cooking for me, even if I only eat a little. Like now, she cooked breakfast for me because I'm going to the office today.
"I told you, you don't need to cook all the time, it's just a waste," I commented while organizing my things for the office. "Aalis na ako," I said as I hurried out, noticing her putting something in a tupperware container.
"You're not going to eat breakfast?" She said hurriedly, catching up with me as she walked out, carrying the lunchbox from earlier. "Here. Take this, I don't want my husband to feel hungry," she said with a smile as she handed me the lunchbox.
Tinitigan ko lang ito bago tuluyang kunin mula sa kanya. Tuluyan na akong pumunta sa kotse ko.
"Remember to eat your lunch and come home for dinner, okay? I'll prepare something delicious for you." She said, still standing by the door. "No girls in your office, okay? I have eyes everywhere, remember? Good luck, hubby!" She said as she threw a flying kiss.Yes, she has eyes all around me, she's tracking everything. She has eyes on all my movements, so no matter where I go, she knows. She's totally crazy. She doesn't hide that side of her.
She took her tying me down too seriously.
"Boss, you have five meetings for today. I've also updated all the departments. All the papers you need to sign are already in your office." My secretary, Maxine, informed me. "I just want to clarify if I've done everything you asked for today?" she asked with a poker face.
Maxine has been my secretary ever since I started working at my family's company. Maxine has been amazing for the past six years. I don't even know where Dad found her because it's rare for employees to stay this long.
"Good. I want my day to be great. Make me some coffee and bring it to my office," I instructed, which she immediately followed.
I sat down on the swivel chair and began signing the papers in front of me. For now, itatabi ko muna ang lahat ng problema ko. I don't want to ruin my day because of her.
"Boss, here's your pure black hot coffee," she placed the hot coffee beside me where I wouldn't accidentally knock it over. Tumango lang ako bilang sagot at nagpaalam na siyang bumalik sa kanyang mesa.
My phone on the other side suddenly rang, so I looked over briefly until I saw who it was.
Zahara:
Dinner tonight don't forget. I miss you hubby.
I just put it back on my side and didn't bother to answer back her message.
Ilang oras pa lang ang nakalipas and she already misses me? Ano ba siya, bata na kailangan lagi ng magulang.
Before long, I went back to signing the papers I was working on earlier. May trabaho akong dapat gawin, uunahin ko pa ba siya? After a few minutes, Maxine knocked again.
