North Hayes Yuan Kogarashi

"Zahara, you should go home. I'll have Maxine take you-"

"No, no. I don't want to go home without you! And you're still not eating. So no, I'm not going home," she insisted, feigning a pout. I just rubbed my forehead in exasperation at her stubbornness.

Ano ba ang akala niya? That I would force her to go home? No way.

She was wearing a full red ensemble, as if she was going to an important meeting, when in fact pumunta lang siya dito para manggulo.

She's only a few weeks pregnant, kaya hindi pa masyadong halata.

"You want to touch it?" she said, making me jump a bit. I didn't even realize I was staring at her stomach.

"What? I mean, why would I do that?" I said, defending myself.

"You're so freakin' cute! It makes me want to pinch your cheeks." My eyebrows went up at what she said. "Come on, don't be shy, hubby. You can always touch my body, I mean, my tummy, whenever you want." I knew she said that on purpose, so I just ignored her. To avoid her comment, I just grabbed one of the dishes she cooked.

Should I start thinking about baby names now?

This is one of my favorite dishes, though. I took a bite right away, almost closed my eyes 'cause it was so good. Luckily, I stopped myself.

"So? How was it? Did I put too much salt? Is it boring?" she asked, kinda nervous.

"It's... fine," I said, avoiding her gaze. "But you don't have to do this. I can order food for myself-"

"I'm your wife, and it's my job to cook for you-"

"You're only my wife on paper, so stop acting like you're happy in this damn marriage, Zahara." I retorted directly, silencing the air between us.

Realizing what I had said, I suddenly remembered what happened to her the day I confronted her at her house.

The fuck are you doing, Yuan? You're stressing her out. I was about to say that I didn't mean it, but she cut me off.

"You're still tied to me. You're still my husband and no matter what you do to ditch me, I'll get you back. And if this baby is the only thing that'll keep you in this marriage, then expect to have a child every year."

We finally went home because she wouldn't stop bugging me. She said she couldn't sleep unless I was already home. So dramatic.

I went home with her words stuck in my head. Just thinking about it happening every year makes me shiver. What's going on inside her head?

She should go see a therapist every day.

While dialing the idiot's number, I went downstairs to the kitchen. He should be awake by now, otherwise, siya ang susunod sa ipapagawa ko sa kanya.
