North Hayes Yuan Kogarashi

I woke up with a throbbing headache, instinctively reaching for my head as if I could no longer feel it from the pain. Ilang bote ba ang nainom ko?

I looked at the bedside table where I first saw the alarm clock. It's already twelve PM and I just woke up. I scanned my surroundings, realizing I was in my room at our house with Zahara. Siya nga talaga ang nag-uwi sa akin. Akala ko nananaginip lang ako kagabi.

My gaze fell upon the human-sized mirror beside me, revealing my disheveled appearance. I was in a mess. I was only wearing boxers, and my hair looked like I had been in a brawl.

Damn, what did I do last night? Bakit ganito?

A knock came from outside my room. Then, she walked in, holding food and wearing a dress.

I noticed that she loves wearing dresses, especially elegant ones. I don't know why, but my heart seemed to soften, and the weight I felt since last night just disappeared. When I saw her in front of me, I felt like I wanted to kneel.

"How was your sleep? Did you rest well?" she asked softly, placing what she was holding on my working table before sitting on my bed.

"I should be the one asking you that. How are you?" I asked the two of them, which caused her to smile softly as she looked at her stomach.

"The doctor said we're fine. So don't worry about us," she said. I nodded in response. I know Yuri, I trust her so much that she won't let anything bad happen to them. "Are you okay now? By the way... I talked to them." My forehead suddenly furrowed at her sudden statement.

I felt like I was going to get mad because I was worried that they might have said something that would drag the two of them into my problem again.

"Hubby, before you get mad, let me talk, okay?" She held my hand, which was on the bed.

"Anong sinabi mo sa kanila? Did they hurt you? Are you hurt? Tell me so I can go to them right away- please talk.." I asked her urgently. I felt weak because it felt like they were using my weakness to break me.

"First of all, they didn't hurt me. I'm fine, don't worry," she said, gently touching my cheek. "I told them to let you go. To let you free from their hands. I... I told them to set you free." Her voice broke. My heart felt like it was ripped apart by her words.

No one dares to set me free. No one.

"If you want to protect me and our child, then let me protect you. Let me be your shield against everything."

But she does. She does set me free.

"So from now on, don't hesitate to tell me about all your problems. If you think it will stress me out, then fuck it. What's the point of being your wife if you can't even tell me your problems? If you still don't love me, that's fine, just tell me so you won't feel overwhelmed. If you still hate me because you was forced to marry me, someone you don't even know, that's fine, just tell me so you won't be hurting-" She said in a hurried voice, as if she was the one who was mad here.

"I don't hate you, okay?" I corrected her.

"Still... whatever you say. You should tell me everything." She said as she approached me and gently kissed my forehead, causing my eyes to close involuntarily.
