19. A few months

I stared out the window overlooking the pond.

Gun had taken me out there a couple of time to look at the fish.

I still want out but I'm losing hope.

How do you escape Gun in a place where everyone is afraid of him?

Not to mention no one will understand me.

There was a knock and Akari walked in with some tea and snacks.

I nodded but couldn't force a smile.

Akari is my personal maid which feels weird to say.

She said something but I have no idea what she said.

I looked back out the window and wondered what my mom and dad were doing at the moment.

Were they still looking for me?

How long has passed?

I heard talking outside my door and hurried footsteps.

Gun must be home and they're running to greet him.

I can't be bothered.

Hmm...

I got up and walked out of our room.

Everyone was busy welcoming him so there's probably no one watching me.

I hurried about looking for a way out.

I turned the nob to a door and gasped when it opened.

I poked my head out and when I didn't see anyone, I hurried out.

My heartbeat was in my throat.

I ran across the grass barefoot but I couldn't care less. I ran past the pond and deeper than I've ever been.

I finally made it to a wall and panted.

Okay, I have to climb this quick!

I made my way up somehow and made it to the top.

I made it! I'm going to escape!

"And where do you think you're going?"

My eyes widened as a hand wrapped around my ankle.

"No!" I clung onto the wall and vines.

I was pulled down like it was nothing and landed in his arms.

He smiled down at me and turned, starting back towards the house.

A few men were watching and followed him back to the house.

I could scream and cry. 

But when had that worked in the past?

He kissed my cheek and I closed my eyes, turning away.

"Your feet are filthy. You haven't had your bath yet, have you?" He asked and I opened my eyes as we were going past the pond.

I noticed the fish and watched quietly.

Gun stopped and let me watch for a bit.

I like animals.

But I wish I wasn't here.
