POV E.J.

DAY 7 OF REHEARSALS

It's one week of rehearsals and I'm still disappointed that I didn't get the role of Troy. Instead, I've got the Chad role. I mean, Chad?!

And I lost it for a guy who arrived late to the auditions? Yeah, right.

- Hello, people! As you know, since last week I'm incorporating the Chad character by using this stylish Wildcat basketball t-shirt! I'm so happy and grateful for playing this amazing role. Swipe up for the tickets' link!

- Hello! - Ashlyn says, coming on the way.

- Say hello to my cousin and bye to my cousin! She's the bomb! Okay, I gotta go! Peace!✌️

Then I end my Instagram live.

- Wow, you look so happy today.

- It's just for the followers, Ashlyn. Inside, I'm a bucket of sad.

- That's still because you lost the Troy role?

- Yes, I am devastated. And...

- Let me guess. Angry?

- A little. Wow, you know me so well.

- We live together since forever, remember?

- I know. - I say, giggling.

I admit, Ashlyn is my favorite person in the world. She's like a sister I've never had. I'm lucky that we're cousins, because I don't know what I would do without her. Even though I don't demonstrate it too well.

- Maybe it's going to be good for you.

- How it could be good for me, Ashlyn?

- For you to learn that you can't get anything you want.

- Wow, thank you. - I say, ironically.

- You're welcome. - she rebates, also ironically. - But it's serious, E.J., it probably can be something good. Look at me, for example. I got the Ms. Darbus role and a new friend.

- Because you're literally like Ms. Darbus. And that new friend it's that new girl that you were holding hands along with Seb?

- Exactly. She's very shy, but we're starting to make a little connection, you know. You should try creating some between rehearsals.

- But I already do! I've got Nini's trust.

- But you know she doesn't like boys, right? And not in a romantic way.

- Oh, yes... I forgot that she came out and she's dating a blonde girl from the camp I went with her. But, I'm dating with Jessica Peterson, who was my understudy from "The Illusion Seller".

- Wait. Jessica Peterson?

- Yes. What?

- It's the same name that Nini mentioned once on a conversation... She also was a understudy of the Music Man on the same play you two did... Then they started to date and...

Then she looks at me, concerned.

- Oh, no, E.J...

- Wait, what? Do you think that...

Then I realized.

- Oh, sh**.

We're dating Jessica Peterson at the same time?!?!

- No, no, no, no, no...! - I say. - No, no, it can't be! It can't be true!

- But it is, E.J.! She's betraying both of you!
