I get home earlier than usual, it being 11pm and not 3am. The customers weren't that good and I wasn't making much of anything so I went home.

I pull into the driveway the same time ruby is, "hey Ruby" I grab my bag and get out of the car.

"Hey sweetie" she grabs her purse, "Bad night?"

"Yeah, hardly anyone at the club" I sigh, "I need to move to a different club, one that's not run by a shitty guy"

"How shitty?"

I look at her, "So shitty he takes almost all of the girls' tips if we don't hide them well."

She hums, "Very shitty"

I nod in agreement. We walk up the sidewalk towards the porch, climbing the few stairs I'm already digging into my bag in search of my keys to unlock the door. Ruby just goes ahead and tries it anyways, the door opens and she turns to me, "Tada"

I chuckle softly and follow her into the house. I expected to hear the TV or something, but no, nothing. I take my slippers off and push them up against the wall next to the door. I have too many slippers for my own good.

"Hey" Ruby calls out.

I glance over at Ruby, "I'm gonna go set my bag down and change, I'll be right back"

"Okay" she nods.

Annie sushes us both before I'm even up the stairs. "Guess who found those caramel bugles from Krogers" Ruby looks around not seeing anyone, "what is going on? That bachelorette is on, Hello"

"Don't start it without me!" I call out before I turn the corner and disappear out of sight. I speed into my room and toss my bag onto the floor, the heels falling to the ground make a heavy thud. My room is one of the smallest in the whole house, when I moved in I wasn't expecting to stay as long as i have. It didn't feel right to me to steal one of the bigger rooms and make Beth's two daughters sleep together in the smallest room.

I change into an oversized T-shirt and some sleep shorts before I'm rushing back downstairs trying not to miss any of the bachelorette. As I walk off the last step I see Beth in tears and hugging Ruby, I look at Annie confused, "what's wrong?" i mouth

"Deans having an affair" she mouths back.

My eyes widened in disbelief, who on God's green earth would want Dean? I walk over to Ruby and Beth, I rub beths back comfortingly. "It's going to be okay sweetheart, he was a shitty person anyways" I glanced back at Annie, noticed the bottles of various alcohol on the side cart had been missing and moved to the coffee table, "how about i make us a drink, would that help any?"

I've never been the best influence but Beth does tend to drink when she gets stressed or anything, I mean we all do. It's human nature.

"How about a screwdriver?" Annie drops her hands to her sides.

"A sledgehammer" Beth finally speaks.

I go into the garage and grab it for her anyways, is it a bad idea to give a heartbroken girl a sledgehammer? Yes. Does Dean deserve it? Fuck yes.

Ruby, Annie, and I stand around the office doors, drinks in our hands as we watch Beth go to town in his office. She is smashing the bookshelf, the desk, the file cabinet.

"Should we stop this?" Ruby asks.

Annie and I say in union, "No"

After a few more swings of the sledgehammer the file cabinet breaks and papers spill out. Beth tosses it to the floor and sinks down onto her knees, her eyes scanning over the papers.
