We get into the elevator and start to ride up to Marion's floor but the elevator stops a few floors and the doors open to reveal someone's grandma getting in. us four girls stay towards the back of the elevator. She glances back at us and Ruby nods in greeting. She puts on her sunglasses as the elevator stops. She gets out and we go up.

At Marion's door Annie gets on her knees and breaks out a pick-lock kit. 'You're gonna rake through with the tumblers.' The man in the video says.

"Go back to the part with the second pin thingie." Annie says.

Beth sighs, "I'm trying." She skips back on the video trying to get to the part that Annie needs. Me and Ruby stand on guard to make sure no one comes.

" Stop flipping it around. Just hold it one..." Annie groans.

"What is taking so long?" Ruby looks right and left.

"It's buffering." Beth says, glancing back at Ruby.

"That unlimited data plan sounds really nice right about now, doesn't it?" I grin, Beth just glares at me.

After a bit more of Annie trying to pick the door open the door opens. But there stands Marion, "Can I help you?"

"Marion! You're up and about! That's great!" I straighten my stance and smile, "We were told that you would be bedridden and to just let ourselves in."

"Who are you?" she asks.

"We're the volunteers." Beth says, "Medicare automatically enrolls you to receive a number of services. Tidying up, meal prep, companionship, whatever you need."

"Should we come back another time? Or is this a bad time?" I smile softly as I speak.

"Well, I suppose not." Marion shakes her head and opens the door wider. Annie is the first one in.

"You two are incredible liars." Ruby says quietly so Marion doesn't hear.

"Right?" I smirk softly as I walk inside Marion's apartment.

"Thank you." Beth follows then ruby.

Not even five minutes into us being inside of her apartment, Annie is lounging on the couch with Marion as Marion explains her whole family tree. I'm dusting shelves, Ruby is vacuuming, and Beth is wiping the windows. "Got any family in town, Marion?" Beth asks.

"My husband passed last year." Marion says.

"I'm so sorry." I said.

"Such is life. We had 40 years. Five children. Sixteen grandchildren."

"Wow, that must keep you busy." I pause dusting so I can face her.

"Every one of them moved away. Can you believe that? They're just too into their own lives. Except Leslie. He's my little boy." Marion laughs so I laugh with her. "Oh, and this is his fiancee. Isn't she pretty?" She grabs a picture frame of Boomer and a famous lady, she turns it around to show us.

"Very." I nod.

Ruby whispers,"Jessica Alba?"

"I know what you're thinking, but she's only half." Marion says. Ruby's and mine's eyes widened as we shared a glance.

"How about some of this no-calorie lemonade?" She says.

Beth speaks up, "Marion, where's your restroom?"

"Oh." she points to the hallway. Beth puts down the bottle of window cleaner and throws the dirty paper towel away before she goes through the hallway leaving us. Meanwhile Beth is gone Marion allows me to sit down and stop cleaning but she doesn't let Ruby do the same.
