After controlling the rover for a while now, I finally found one of the missing people in the cave. I was tasked by my superior to main the robot and try to find the people who had been missing for a week now. Lucky that it was a robot that was down here and not another person. Thank God they learnt from their mistake previously.
When I found one of the missing person, at first I thought of being hopeful that I could find the others... then that thought turned into dread. When I did found the person, they were not alive anymore... rather, there was something growing on them. It looked like a moss that grows on rocks. Except this moss was bloody red, and... it looked like it was eating the person, because I could see the arm and the left side of the face were skeletal now.
After moving on, I continued to find more of the missing people... and they were all in the same condition just like the first person I found like. I really didn't know what kind of moss this was, and I wasn't sure if this cave was known to grow some form of plant like this. Might possibly be the reason why the missing people were down here in the first place.
I only continued, because maybe that this was an expedition crew... but only when the rover detected some motion was when I looked around. That was the thing... I didn't see anything. It was only when the screen suddenly glitched and went black, the word 'Connection Severed' appearing on it, was when my superior went into my room.
"Onodera. Stop the mission, now."
