Days had passed since the last murder, and the city was still on edge. Despite the best efforts of the police and forensic teams, the killer remained elusive, leaving behind no clues that could lead to an arrest. The pressure to solve the case was immense, and no one felt it more acutely than Sub-head Officer Park Jimin. The stress of the ongoing investigation weighed heavily on him, and it showed in the way his usually sharp features had taken on a hardened edge.

Late at night, Jimin stood on the rooftop of his apartment building, the city sprawled out beneath him. A cigarette hung loosely from his lips, the smoke curling up into the air and dissipating into the night sky. He had tried to quit smoking more times than he could count, but with the mounting pressure of the case, it was the only thing that seemed to calm his nerves, even if just for a moment.

He exhaled a long stream of smoke, his mind racing through the endless possibilities of who the killer could be. There were suspects—people who didn't fit quite right, but something about them nagged at Jimin. He hadn't mentioned his suspicions to anyone yet, not even Yoongi. He needed to be sure before he brought anyone else into the fold.

The rooftop door creaked open behind him, and Jimin stiffened slightly, recognizing the sound of familiar footsteps. He quickly dropped the cigarette, crushing it under his shoe, and waved his hand in a futile attempt to clear the smoke from the air. He knew who it was without even turning around.

Yoongi's footsteps grew closer, and soon, he was standing beside Jimin, holding two mugs of coffee. His expression was a mix of concern and exasperation as he took in the sight of his boyfriend trying to hide the evidence of his smoking habit. Yoongi didn't say anything, but the slight furrow in his brow spoke volumes.

Jimin turned to face him, a sheepish smile tugging at the corners of his lips.

"I know, I know. I said I'd quit,"     he muttered, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly.

Yoongi handed him a mug of coffee, his expression softening as he took a seat on the edge of the rooftop.

"I'm not going to lecture you, Jimin. I know how much is on your shoulders right now."

Jimin let out a small sigh of relief, grateful for Yoongi's understanding.

They sat in comfortable silence for a few moments, sipping their coffee and watching the city lights twinkle below them. It was moments like these that reminded Jimin why he was so drawn to Yoongi—his quiet strength, his ability to understand without words.

After a while, Yoongi broke the silence.

"I was thinking... Why don't you come over for dinner tonight? We can relax, watch a movie, and just... be."

Jimin glanced at Yoongi, his heart warming at the thought. The idea of spending a quiet evening with Yoongi, away from the chaos of his work, was exactly what he needed. He nodded, a small smile playing on his lips.

"I'd like that," he replied softly.

Yoongi returned the smile, his eyes crinkling at the corners.

 "Good. Then it's a date."

As they finished their coffee, the tension in Jimin's shoulders slowly began to ease. The case was still unsolved, the killer still out there, but for now, Jimin allowed himself to find solace in the presence of the man beside him.

Jimin stood in front of Yoongi's house, his eyes widening slightly as he took in the sight. The house was large, but it had a cozy, inviting feel to it. The front yard was well-maintained, with a lush green grass carpet leading up to the front door. Flower beds lined the walkway, bursting with vibrant colors that added a cheerful touch to the otherwise serene atmosphere. The house itself was a mix of modern and classic architecture, with large windows that allowed plenty of natural light to stream in.

Jimin hadn't expected Yoongi to live in such a big house, but then again, he reminded himself, Yoongi was a highly awarded senior doctor. It made sense that he would have a place like this. Still, the sheer size of it caught him off guard.

As he stood there, trying to process it all, Yoongi noticed the cute pout on Jimin's face and couldn't help but smile. The untold reaction was written all over Jimin's expression.

"Welcome to my little house, Officer Park,"      Yoongi said with a playful tone, breaking Jimin out of his thoughts. He stepped forward and opened the front door by entering a passcode, the door clicking open with a soft sound.

Jimin followed Yoongi inside, still taking in the surroundings. Yoongi glanced at him and added, "Don't mind the mess. I didn't get a chance to tidy up."

Jimin couldn't help but think Yoongi was being modest. The interior was anything but messy—at least compared to his own place. The rooms were well-organized, tastefully decorated, and the entire house had a warm, lived-in feel. Jimin couldn't help but chuckle to himself, thinking,

"If this is messy, then my place must be a dumpster."

Snapping back to the present, Jimin smiled and said,

"It's very huge and beautiful. It's almost too much for one person," he joked lightly.

Yoongi smirked, his eyes twinkling with a hint of mischief.

"Well, it's not going to be just for one person for too much longer. There might be two soon... maybe even three," he said with a smile, his words hanging in the air.

It took Jimin a moment to process what Yoongi had said, and when he did, his eyes widened in realization. A mix of emotions flashed across his face—surprise, amusement, and a hint of embarrassment and shy. Without thinking, he ran towards Yoongi, half-angry, half-smiling, ready to scold his dirty-minded genius boyfriend.

Yoongi's laughter filled the room as he playfully dodged Jimin's half-hearted attempts to catch him, the warm, teasing atmosphere filling the cozy home with a sense of joy and lightheartedness.
