Day 8: Sun

"Hahaha! Hahahaha! Oh Moon, you can't save them now," Sun laughed sinisterly as he stood with his counterpart in the Moon Palace.

Moon was on his knees, sobbing for the mercy of the humans, for the mercy of Earth-Who was attempting to enjoy their so called "holiday."

Sun held a miniature scale of Earth in his hand, able to see the condition of the sad planet perfectly.

"Sun, pl-please, pl-please don't do this... I-I won't let you take me over!"

"Maybe so, but I can just force you," Sun dropped his smile. "You've always disappointed me, Moon, ever since we were both created. Sure, I was nice at first, but do you know how torturous it became dealing with you after the first half of the very first eon? And then I had to suffer three more right after that?"

"S-Sun, we are equals, w-we are the same person!"

"Ugh! I could never be an 'equal' with someone as pitiful and disgusting as you. You're so ugly, crying like that. All you do is cry," Sun began to squeeze the little model, gently at first, causing minimal harm.

"Pl-please, no, Sun! I-I'll do anything, just spare them, please!"

"I've got all the other eight and their moons. Why must you always be the most difficult?"

Moon sobbed. "Because I-I'm not like the other moons, Sun! I-I'm most special, I-I'm a part of you..."

"Cut the crap, Moon. You're nothing like me. Stop dreaming, you'll never meet perfection like I have."

Within a snap of his fingers, thin, silky string wrapped itself around Moon's neck. "Maybe I should hang you. Or perhaps I should choke you! I could drag you around, showing you off to everyone. Perhaps your neck will fall off! Hahaha!" Sun burst into laughter as he began to squeeze the model of Earth.

Moon gasped and clawed at the string, but it was too tight. He let Sun take control over him. It wasn't like he was too weak to stop him. They were equals, after all. But Moon worshipped Sun, he knew he was pathetic and wanted to please Sun, to gain his approval.

"Come on, Moon, stop me, won't you?"

"Pl-please, Sun, I'll do anything..." Moon choked.

Sun's clothes began to soak up blood from nowhere-But it was clear where it was coming from... Earth.

"Mmn, can't you just taste it?! Hear it?! Those screams of agony, the smell of their blood! I'll let the humans suffer again and again if I have to! Earth needs to learn his lesson for trying to be buddies with you!"

Moon cried out and looked back, gazing through the paneless windows. He could see the Earth shrivelling and cracking, things that seemed impossible to occur in such a short amount of time.

Earth suddenly appeared besides Moon, whining in pain. "Sun, stop this! What are you doing?!"

Sun only grinned wider and stepped back, inching away from them.

"Moon, stop him! You imbecile!" Earth cried.

Moon shook his head, bleeding from the mouth as his ghostly white face began to fade into purple.

"Moon, Moon, don't do this to me! That is our planet, don't you understand? You protect it with me! Don't I matter to you more than he does?"

Moon could only whimper. He really wanted to help, he did. But seeing Sun so happy, smiling wide with pride and power... It was like a force preventing him from doing anything in his own favour. If it didn't benefit Sun, it was of no worth doing.

"Whimper all you want, Earth, he's not going anywhere," Sun mocked. "He's like my little pet, little Moon... He's always been so eager to please, but I never really thought it'd work out this far."

"You're wicked! Horrible!" Earth shouted.

Sun squeezed the model, making Earth groan and fall to his knees besides Moon. "I'd watch what you say, Earth~ You don't want to end up like... Him, do you?"

Moon was on the floor, quivering, his neck wound up tight with the string, cutting into his skin. His "blood" smelt a lot like moonshine or even formaldehyde. It was purple and runny, like snot.

"Moon, Moon! Don't let him control you, Moon!" Earth pleaded, shaking Moon conscious everytime he closed his eyes.

"It's just so pathetic to watch you two! But it's so entertaining~."
