sat outside the school waiting on Eddie to come out so he could take me home when Jonathan came up to me. “Val” he said with his voice cracking slightly “what?” “i’m sorry for how I acted earlier i’m just worried about Will” he said not looking at me. I sighed “its fine I understand where your coming from” I said as I stood up and pulled him into a hug “he will be fine I promise” I said as he hugged me back. I pressed a kiss to his lips before I heard my name get called by Eddie “I have to go call me ok?” I said before running off to Eddie.

“How is lover boy doing with the whole missing brother thing” “hes doing as good as you can you know” I say as I went through his cassettes. “We need to go look for new music because what is this” I said holding up a a cassette “thats Paranoid by Black Sabbath” Eddie said without even looking over at me. “Where is A Day at the Races I know I left it in here” “its right there you blind bitch” Eddie said as he handed it to me.

“Oh shut up” I said before putting the cassette in “I don’t know why I let you get your way like this” “its because you loveee meee” I said before belting out the lyrics to Tie Your Mother Down. “Oh shit look” Eddie said before turning my music down and pointing out the window. As I turned I noticed caution tape around the trees and multiple police cars crowding the streets. “What the hell” I muttered as we continued to drive down before being stopped by a cop.

Eddie rolled down his window for the cop that I know to be chief of police Jim Hopper. Eddie, the girls, and I have had run ins with him before but that doesn’t matter right now. I looked over at Hopper “is there a problum officer” I asked knowing Eddie would just get us in trouble. “You two can’t drive this way its an active crime scene” “but we need to go this way to go home” “I know for a fact your house is not this way Ms Sinclair” Hopper said in a matter of fact tone”.

“Well yes that would be correct but this is the way to his house” I say gesturing to Eddie “and hes the one whos driving shouldn’t you be asking him these questions Jim?” I asked tilting my head. “Its chef Hopper to you” he says and I roll my eyes “Just go the other way” Hopper says before turning and going back to the scene. “Its fine Val I could just drop you off at your house we wouldn’t want your parents to get worried anyway” Eddie said as he backed off the street and back onto the main road. “My parents don’t care and I don’t wanna go home” I told him “well I don’t need your parents to have anymore reason to hate me so I am taking you home” he said as drove down the road.

“Eddie please don’t take me home please” I begged and he just rolled his eyes “Tommorow when road to my house isn’t closed I will take you there and i’ll let you stay the night” “ok ok thats ok”. “Good but make sure your parents know you won’t be home because you parents hate me so much” “they don’t hate you” I told him. “I got you high at 14 so they definitly hate me” Eddie said as he pulled into my driveway. “I’m coming to pick you up at like 6 tommorow because I have somethings I need to do so be ready” Eddie tells me as I get out of the car. “Six!? Thats so early” I complained “Ok either you get up and come with me and Kim at 6 or you skate to school” he says “fineee” I sighed before waving goodbye and going to my house.

I went up to the house and unlocked the door when “WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN” my mother shouts as she jumps up from her seat on the couch. “Um no where I was just around” I say glancing at the clock making sure I hadn’t missed my fake curfew that I rarely follow. “Why whats wrong?” I questioned “why were you not with your brother?” “was I meant to be I haven’t seen Lucas since he left for school” I said confused as fuck. “You need make sure your siblings get to school and you need to make sure they get home” my mother tells me.

“Wait what?” I’m so confused at this point and I’ starting to think my mother has lost her mind. “You need to make sure both Lucas and Erica get to school on time” “and how am I ment to do that the elementary is on the other side of town and I don’t have a car” I said pointing our flaws in her logic and she just snapped. “You know what your grounded until you can sort out your priorities now go to your room” My mother yelled and I just rolled my eyes before making my way upstairs.
