CH 28: Let me love you

🌸Renee Grey🌸

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm orange glow over the landscape, I couldn't help but feel a mix of exhaustion and excitement. Our roadside antics and shenanigans had consumed more time than I cared to admit, and my eyelids were growing heavy. Grey's unpredictable energy had kept me on my toes all day, but now my body craved rest.

I need to sleep for about 79 hours straight......just kidding.... but really.

Grey and I had been driving for hours, and I knew our destination was a cozy Bed and Breakfast but that was all he cared to tell me. Grey had insisted on keeping the details a surprise, and I played along, enjoying the thrill of the unknown. As we turned onto the familiar winding road, Grey's eyes sparkled with mischief. 'Close your eyes, just for a minute,' he whispered, his fingers tracing gentle circles on my skin. I obliged, feeling the blindfold settle around my eyes.

The car slowed, and Grey's voice whispered, 'Ready?' The engine died, and suddenly, a chorus of screams pierced the air: 'Surprise!' My heart leapt as I ripped off the blindfold, and there they were—Lavender, Nathaniel, Janessa and Even Drawing guy, Cameron—my friends, beaming with smiles, surrounded by twinkling fairy lights and balloons. Tears of joy pricked at my eyes and heart swelled with joy, and I flung myself into the midst of our little gathering, hugging each friend tightly. Grey wrapped his arms around me, holding me close as we basked in the warmth of our shared moment.

Well, Lav, Nes and I did a lot more than squealing but who cares...

Right?

"How did you plan this?" I asked, eyes shining with gratitude.

Grey smiled mischievously. "I had some help from your favorite co-conspirators."

Nes and Lav let out a weird ass whistle so I blow them a kiss

"This is the sweetest thing anyone has ever done for me" I pulled Grey in for a kiss "Thank you"

He kissed me back fiercely, "You could thank me later Angel" he whispered suggestively in my ears making me giggle

"Okay, that's it Love birds. Pregnant woman here; What's for dinner" Lav screams pulling us apart and everybody chuckled, and we spent the next few hours catching up, sharing stories, and relishing each other's company.

As I looked around the porch, taking in my surrounding; the warm glow of twinkling fairy lights and soft candlelight enveloped me, making me feel like I was walking into a dream. The Bed and Breakfast, aptly named 'Havenwood,' exuded a charming, rustic elegance. The wooden facade, weathered to a soft silver, seemed to whisper stories of countless laughter-filled nights and cozy mornings.

The porch creaked beneath our feet, its wooden rockers and swing beckoning us to linger. Potted flowers – vibrant petunias and trailing ivy – spilled color and life onto the railing. Inside, the scent of freshly baked cookies and brewing coffee wafted through the air, mingling with the faint hint of old books and wood smoke.

Our friends had taken over the main living area, their laughter and chatter filling the spacious room with warmth. Plush armchairs and sofas, upholstered in rich fabrics, invited us to sink in and stay awhile. The fireplace, now crackling with a lively flame, cast a golden glow across the room.

Upstairs, I knew our cozy room awaited, its plush bed and soft linens promising a restful night's sleep. The bathroom's claw-foot tub and rain showerhead beckoned me to indulge in a relaxing soak.
