CH 34: Surpriseeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!

'What??'
"What the fuck?!" I exclaimed as I stormed into my office on Monday morning, my heart pounding with indignation.
I was already on edge, excited to get to work after a weekend of blissful relaxation with Isabelle, My mom, Azzy, Aaron and Grey , my dreamy boyfriend. But this...this was not what I expected.
I was shocked to find a memo waiting for me, announcing that I'd been assigned an assistant - Bitchy Minnie, of all people! my face contorted in disbelief.
I was a fucking assistant why did I even need an assistant?
Confused and more than a little frustrated, I decided to go straight to the source - Grey Carson. I hurried to his office, determined to get to the bottom of this.
As I approached, I saw him on the phone, but he motioned for me to come in and take a seat.
Grey wrapped his arms around my waist as he finished his conversation. The heat of his body against mine was both comforting and distracting, but I managed to focus on the task at hand.
As soon as Grey hung up the phone, I launched into my questions, not wasting a moment. "Grey, what's going on? Why did you assign Minnie to assist me? I'm doing just fine on my own," I said, a hint of defensiveness in my voice.
Grey gave me a sympathetic smile, his eyes warm and reassuring. "Angel, Minnie's transfer had nothing to do with your performance," he said gently. "The welfare department needed a shake-up, and Minnie was causing more problems than she was solving.
I wasn't satisfied with Grey's explanation, and my frustration was starting to show. "Why couldn't you have assigned Minnie to someone else then?" I asked, my voice raising a notch. "Why me? You know how difficult she can be."
Grey's expression hardened, his jaw tightening in annoyance. "I thought you could handle Minnie," he snapped, his voice losing its earlier gentleness. "She needed to be placed somewhere she couldn't do any more damage. I thought you of all people could keep her in line."
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Grey was asking me to handle Minnie, when he knew full well how much I struggled with people like her? My frustration boiled over.
"Are you serious?" I exclaimed. "You know I'm not a babysitter. And when did you suddenly become so tolerant of everyone? What about your OCD? You can't even handle a loose thread without unraveling."
Grey's eyes flashed with anger, and he jerked away from me, his hands balling into fists at his sides. "Don't talk about my OCD," he growled, his voice low and dangerous. "You know how I struggle with it. I'm trying my best here, but you're not making it easy."
My heart sank as I realized how far I'd pushed him. I knew better than anyone how much Grey struggled with his OCD, and I'd used it against him in my anger. I could see the hurt and frustration in Grey's eyes, and I felt a wave of guilt wash over me. I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down.
"Grey, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to bring up your OCD like that," I said, reaching out to touch his arm. "I'm just...confused about Minnie. And frustrated. Can you please just explain to me why you think she'll be a good fit here?" Grey sighed, his shoulders slumping in defeat.
Grey took a deep breath, seeming to regain his composure. "Angel, there's something I haven't told you yet. We've been awarded a contract to build a new club with a secret underground area. It's a big project and we need to start work immediately. I didn't want to leave you alone to handle everything, so I thought Minerva could handle the paperwork while we're on-site."
