It had been a few days since Bora, Jimin, Yoongi, Niki, Woonhak, and the others started hanging out at Yoonmin's place. Their friendship had become close-knit, and Bora had already told Jungkook about Niki. He was pleased that she was making new friends, and so were Nara and the others.
One particular evening, Bora found herself lounging on the couch in Niki’s living room. They were watching a random movie, the kind you play when conversation is more important than the actual film.
Niki broke the silence, his voice calm but tinged with curiosity. "Hey, you know what…?"
Bora, munching on some chips, glanced at him lazily. "What?" she asked between bites, more interested in the snack than whatever mystery was brewing in Niki’s head.
"Mr. Bang doesn’t let me enter his room."
Bora paused mid-chew, her eyebrows raised. "Why would you want to enter his room?"
Niki shrugged, leaning back into the cushions. "I mean, I don’t. But isn’t it odd? It’s my house too, but whenever I try to go in there, he freaks out."
"Freaks out?" Bora echoed, now intrigued. "How?"
"One time, the shower in my bathroom wasn’t working, so I asked him if I could use his. He got all weird about it and told me to use the guest bathroom instead." Niki’s voice dropped, his confusion clear. "It’s happened more than once."
Bora frowned, sitting up straighter. "Well, that is odd. I mean… this is your house, right? Why can’t you go into a room?"
Niki sighed, shaking his head. "I know, right?"
Bora’s expression suddenly lit up, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Maybe he’s a drug dealer!" she exclaimed dramatically, her grin wide as her mind raced.
Niki gave her a blank stare, clearly unimpressed. "I don’t think—"
"Come on!" Bora interrupted, her voice rising as she hopped up on the couch. "Let’s check out his room. What if it’s filled with secret things? This could be our big adventure!"
Niki hesitated, but Bora’s infectious enthusiasm quickly won him over. "You’re insane," he muttered, but a smile crept across his face. "But okay, let’s do it."
At that moment, Mr. Bang was out in the garden, giving them the perfect opportunity to slip into his room unnoticed. With bated breath, they crept through the halls, careful not to make a sound.
Inside Mr. Bang’s room, they stood in the middle, scanning the space.
"This room looks… normal," Niki said after a few moments.
"Perfectly normal," Bora agreed, her voice flat with disappointment.
They stared at each other, a heavy silence settling between them.
Bora rolled her eyes, waving her hand dismissively. "Dumbo, of course he’s hiding his stuff. We have to search."
They spent the next few minutes rifling through drawers and inspecting every nook and cranny they could find. But despite their best efforts, there was nothing out of the ordinary.
"Nothing," Bora huffed, collapsing back on the couch. "What a shame. No secret drugs, no hidden treasure… just a boring room."
"That’s a good thing, Bora," Niki said, shaking his head, though he couldn’t help but chuckle at her dramatics.
