Tae's Diary

16 June 2001

Dear diary,

I didn't know what to do. How could I even begin to process what had just happened? Jungkook... *my* Jungkook—my crush—had just confessed to me. It felt unreal, like I was living in a dream where everything I ever wanted was handed to me on a silver platter. And for a moment, I froze. Completely.

-------------

*Jimin's POV*The look on Tae's face was priceless—he was utterly stunned, like someone had just thrown him into the deep end of the ocean without a life jacket. Poor guy didn't know what hit him. He looked like he couldn't even process that Jungkook had just poured his heart out.----

Jungkook, standing just a few feet away from Tae, was growing nervous as the silence stretched between them. "Tae?" Jungkook called softly, snapping Tae out of his daze. "You don't have to say anything right now. Take your time. I know it's a lot to think about."

Tae blinked, coming back to reality. "Huh?" Jungkook gave a soft, nervous laugh, rubbing the back of his neck. "I mean, I'm not putting all the pressure on you. I'll help you figure it out. We can talk, we can take it slow. I don't even know if you like boys, or—" He stopped mid-sentence, suddenly realizing something. "Wait... what am I even saying? I just confessed without even knowing if you... I mean—what if..."

It hit Jungkook then—he had just laid everything bare without knowing whether Tae even liked guys, let alone if he liked him back. But something in his gut had told him that this was the right choice, that not saying anything would leave him full of regret. He had followed his heart. He had taken the leap. Now he just needed to see where he'd land.

---

*Tae's Diary* In that moment, I watched him spiral, and for the first time in days, something clicked inside me. He had no idea how I felt. He didn't even know if I liked boys... and yet, he'd put his heart on the line. He was brave. And here I was, hiding—hiding from my feelings, from him, from myself.I couldn't hide anymore.

---"Jungkook," Tae interrupted softly, taking a step closer. Jungkook's rambling halted as he looked up, startled by the seriousness in Tae's voice."Huh?"

"Shh." Tae smiled, his eyes softening as he reached out, placing a gentle hand on Jungkook's arm. "Thank you. Thank you for making me realize that talking can actually solve most of my problems. I've been running from this... from us. But you..." Tae's voice wavered slightly as he looked into Jungkook's wide, questioning eyes. "You had no idea how I felt. You didn't know if I liked boys or not, and still, you had the guts to tell me how you feel."

Jungkook opened his mouth to say something, but Tae cut him off again."You're brave, Jungkook," Tae said softly, his voice filled with warmth and admiration. "So much braver than me. I was a coward. I was hiding from my own feelings because I was too scared to admit the truth. Not just to you—but to myself."

Jungkook's heart pounded in his chest, his mind racing to catch up with Tae's words. "W-What do you mean?" he stammered, his voice barely above a whisper.Tae took a deep breath, his eyes never leaving Jungkook's. "I've liked you since the beginning, Jungkook. Since the moment I got to know you. But I was so terrified—terrified of what it meant, terrified of how you might react, and mostly... terrified of facing my own feelings."

Jungkook's eyes widened in shock, his mouth falling open slightly. "W-What? You... you like me?" His voice was disbelieving, as if he couldn't quite wrap his mind around what he was hearing. "Are you serious?"

Tae smiled, a soft chuckle escaping his lips. "I'm serious."

Jungkook stood there for a moment, utterly speechless. And then, as if his body couldn't contain the sheer joy that surged through him, his face turned bright red, and he started pacing around the room, his excitement bubbling over. His feet moved restlessly as he ran his hands through his hair, trying to process the overwhelming happiness that was flooding him.
