i get high off of sunlight
the buzz on my skin is a hug
she is warmth
and beauty
she keeps me radiant
we understand each other
we are both stars
we laugh and we cry
we bond over the beauty of the sky
there's lots in the world
that will try to dim us out
she has taught me how to be light
but to also know when i should bite
to shake off the dark like a rabid dog
to face the demons of pain
bare my teeth and watch them fall
