"Are you really that close with Hanni?," asked Ahyeon.
"We're cousins. We've known each other since we were little. That's why we're close," replied Rora as he packed his things.
"Who is she and who am I?," asked Ahyeon.
"She's my family, and you're my wife," replied Rora.
"Am I not part of your family?," asked Ahyeon.
"Yes, you're part of my family. What's with the sudden question?," asked Rora.
Ahyeon was tired of dealing with Rora's constant provocations that often led to arguments between them.
"Rora, how long are we going to sleep in separate rooms?," asked Ahyeon.
"Isn't that what you want? We're not serious as husband and wife. You can't accept my situation, my personality, or my character. You don't love me, so tell me why we should share a room?," Rora responded.
"How could you say all of that, Rora? Where has the Rora I knew gone? The Rora who was forgiving, patient, and understanding?," asked Ahyeon.
"The Rora you knew is gone, he’s disappeared. The moment he found out the person he loved still loved someone else and couldn't accept him," said Rora, revealing the feelings he had been hiding for weeks.
"Rora, you're misunderstanding. You didn't hear everything I said to Pharita. All you heard was the part that made you misunderstand. Do you think it's fair to me? You left without giving me a chance to explain. Every time I tried to talk to you, you kept running away and avoiding me," Ahyeon said, expressing her frustration.
"I don't know, Ahyeon. I can't answer your question. I don't know if I'm angry at you or jealous. But I can't pretend everything is fine and forget what my ears heard," Rora said.
"Why do you choose to believe what you hear instead of trusting what your heart feels? Now, I want to ask you. Do you think I’m not sincere in accepting you as my husband? Yes, maybe before. But after we got married, I admit that my heart was touched by the way you treated me. You gave me attention, you gave me love, and made me feel dependent on you. And just when you made me feel that way, why do you want to distance yourself from me?," Ahyeon said.
"Are you trying to say that you’ve actually fallen in love with me?," asked Rora, looking at Ahyeon with hope.
Ahyeon was silent at Rora's question.
"See? You can't even answer me. Why does your instinct as a wife feel threatened when you see me getting close to Hanni?," Rora asked again.
"Yes, Rora. I AM JEALOUS!!! Are you satisfied now?," Ahyeon said, raising her voice.
Rora was shocked to hear Ahyeon's answer. Although it was the response he had hoped for, he was also surprised by her honesty.
"I don’t know when or how, but if you ask me right now, I do love you, baby," Ahyeon finally admitted her feelings to her husband.
"Hello, anybody there?," asked a voice that was familiar to both of them from outside.
Rora and Ahyeon exchanged glances as the door opened. The person who entered was the one responsible for making them husband and wife.
"Hi honey. I’m back," said Ruka, smiling without feeling guilty for what had happened.
"Hey, bro. It's been a while since I was away. You look so different," Ruka said as he looked at Rora.
"What are you doing here?," Rora asked, showing no interest in Ruka’s sudden visit to their home.
"I came to see my fiancée," Ruka replied casually.
"But she's my wife now," Rora responded.
"Yes, I know. But you can divorce her for me, right? After all, you two don’t love each other. Clearly, Ahyeon loves me, right honey?," Ruka asked, looking at Ahyeon, who had been silent the whole time.
"It’s too late now. Just go back. It's not good if the neighbors see," Rora said.
"Well, it's okay. Ahyeon, see you tomorrow, honey. I’ll leave now," Ruka said before quickly leaving in his car.
Once Ruka’s figure disappeared from sight, Rora immediately closed the door.
"Baby, I...," Ahyeon began, struggling to find the right words to say.
"I’m tired, I want to rest," Rora said as he went upstairs, leaving Ahyeon feeling regretful because Ruka's sudden arrival had ruined her attempt to reconcile with Rora.
"Boss, for lunch today, Boss has a meeting with Madam Ahyeon from DMH Properties and Mr. Fariz from Quarter Company to discuss the new project," Asa reported.
But Rora seemed not to hear a word she said.
"Boss, are you okay?," Asa asked.
"Wait, what? I'm sorry. Could you repeat what you just said?," Rora asked.
"Sure, Boss," Asa replied, repeating her earlier words. "If there’s nothing else, I’ll head out now, Boss."
"Hmm, Asa. Can you make me a coffee?," asked Rora.
"Sure, Boss. I’ll make it for you," Asa replied with a smile.
"Here, Boss, your drink," Asa handed Rora a cup of water.
"Thanks. Oh, for the lunch meeting, will you follow me?," Rora asked, to which Asa nodded.
"Honey, what do you want to eat?," Ruka asked Ahyeon.
"Ruka, we're here for the meeting. Let’s be professional," Ahyeon replied.
"But it’s a lunch meeting, right? So it’s not wrong, is it honey?," Ruka asked.
"Ruka, I’m married, okay," Ahyeon responded.
"Honey, I’m sorry for what I did before. I know it was my fault," Ruka said, putting on a pleading expression. If it had been before, that face would have melted Ahyeon’s heart, but now, it didn’t. There was another heart Ahyeon had to protect.
