 Kendall

"Kendall, Kendall, we're here," I felt someone's hand touch my face softly. My eyes fluttered open. "Oh, shoot, sorry, I fell asleep," He held out his hand. I chuckled and grabbed it as he pulled me up. I collected my bag from the back seat. "Thanks, Asher," "Hey, no problem," he flashed me his beautiful smile and took my bag from me. "Shalt I taketh thy bag f'r thee, madam?" He said in a surprisingly accurate Shakespearean accent and bowed. I laughed so hard I had to cover my face. "Why, of course, young sir,"

I played along as he carefully took my bag from me. He walked me to the front step of my house. "Well, see you around," "Wait, don't forget-" I removed his jacket and held it out. He smiled again. "No, you can keep it," I looked at him and back down at the jacket. "You know, I can afford a jacket, right? You don't have to do this out of pity-""No, no, I know you can I just...I mean you don't have to keep it but you can...If you want to of course!" I smiled slightly knowing I had just made it awkward again. "Thank you," It was probably best for me to leave...I pulled the house keys out of my pocket and unlocked the door. "Merry christmas," he finally called. Wait, what? That was when I remembered the next day was Christmas eve. "Oh...yeah you too," I opened the door and smiled at him one more time before shutting it. Then I had a personal meltdown.

"AHHHHHHHHHHH!" My younger sister Alexandria came rushing down the stairs. "WHAT, WHAT IS IT?! IS IT MY NEW SOCCER BALL?! OH MY GOD! AFTER TWO WEEKS! Oh wait...It's you," "Yes, It's me," Alex rolled her eyes but didn't leave. "What's got you so happy?" "Ash- I mean, that's just me, you know?" I could have sworn I saw a trace of a smirk on her lips. "Yeah...makes sense. So who was that guy who dropped you off?" "Guy? What guy? Haha, so funny. You know what? I'm really tired after that tutoring session, I'm just gonna-" "Oh come on, you got home super fast, I heard you talking to someone, and you look like you've put on a little too much blush, you can't really make it more obvious," she stated. I sighed at last and glanced at my tattered shoes. "It's nobody," I muttered. "Wow, his name is really nobody? His parent's must have really not wanted him..." My eyes snapped back to her and I glared. "Hey!"

She laughed. "Anyways," I tried to change the topic. "What soccer ball are we talking about? And does mom know about this?" Her smirk immediately faded and her expression became rigid. "I don't know what you're talking about," she turned on her heel but I called after her. "I heard you when I walked in...I'm not stupid you know," She turned back around."Really? Wow, now that is something we need to start talking about," I glared at her. "Seriously?" She gave me an uncertain grin and dashed up the stairs before I could say anything more.

Asher. Asher. Asher. I couldn't think of anyone else. I honestly didn't know what was happening to me. I had never felt this way about anyone before. This feeling was new, it was like being obsessed. "Ready for our Christmas movie marathon?" Alex's voice interrupted my sweet chain of thoughts. "Hm?" She was holding an enormous bowl of popcorn in one hand and candy in the other. She set them down on the table. She pushed her hair out of her face. "Do you have a hair tie by any chance?" I laughed softly and grabbed the one off my wrist. Alex hated having long hair. She put it in a ponytail most of the time but there were some days she left it out. "Didn't even last ten minutes, did you?" I passed the hair tie to her. She rolled her eyes. "I'm gonna cut it all off one day, just you wait," "Aw," I adopted a fake mock voice. "We'd miss your ginger hair so much," She made a face at me. "It's strawberry blonde," she snarled. "It's a mix," "No - Just strawberry blonde!" I shrugged. It was pointless arguing with my sister. I had learned that ages ago. "So...what movie are we gonna watch first?" She sat down beside me. "Wait - what about mom? We can't break our tradition," Alex didn't say anything for a couple of seconds. "We can't wait forever, she has work," she finally said quietly. I growled in frustration. "How can they make her work on Christmas eve?" Alex shrugged. "She has to do what they ask her to...it's only the first couple of months of her job." "Alex?"
