Amira had woken up that morning feeling off. Her cramps had already begun, signaling the start of her period, and her mood had taken a nosedive. Everything seemed to irritate her, and the slightest thing felt overwhelming. But as if that wasn't enough, her phone buzzed with a DM from an unknown girl on Instagram. She hesitated before opening it, her curiosity getting the better of her.

What she saw made her heart drop—a picture of Alejandro shirtless, sitting on a bed with his phone in hand. The girl who sent it captioned it: "He's not who you think he is, honey. Just a heads up."

Amira's stomach twisted. Alejandro wasn't looking at the camera in the picture, but the girl was there with him, smiling like she had some claim over him. The weight of the picture hit her hard, and all the emotions she'd been holding back suddenly rushed to the surface. Everything had been feeling so real lately with Alejandro—too real. And now, she felt foolish for letting her guard down. This was why she hated getting attached to people; they always ended up disappointing her.

She ignored everyone that day, including Alejandro. Every time her phone buzzed with a message from him, she just turned it over, not ready to deal with it. She stayed in her room, feeling heartbroken and angry with herself for letting him in.

Meanwhile, Alejandro was confused. Amira had been ignoring him all day, and he had no idea why. At training, his friends noticed his distracted mood.

"What's up with you today?" Lamine asked as they walked to the pitch.

Alejandro shook his head, running a hand through his hair. "Amira's been ignoring me, and I don't know why."

Pablo raised an eyebrow. "What did you do?"

"I have no idea," Alejandro replied, genuinely baffled.

Pedri, always the more observant one, offered a suggestion. "Maybe she's on her period. My girlfriend gets super moody when she's on hers. Buy her flowers, sweets—make one of those care baskets with all the period stuff. She'll love it."

The boys laughed, but Alejandro thought about it seriously. Maybe Pedri was right. They went through warm-ups, did some exercises, and later played a training match against each other. But Alejandro's mind was elsewhere the whole time.

After training, Alejandro hit the showers, still thinking about what Pedri had said. He didn't know much about periods, so he decided to call his mom for advice. She gave him a list of things to buy, and after thanking her, he headed to the store. He picked out everything she suggested: snacks, chocolate, heating pads, some pads and tampons just in case, and a bouquet of flowers. He wrapped it all up neatly before heading next door to Amira's house.

Amir opened the door, looking surprised to see him. "Hey, she's in her room. Amara's asleep already," he said quietly.

Alejandro nodded and made his way upstairs. He knocked gently on Amira's door, but her voice came out cold from the other side. "Go away."

"Amira, just talk to me," Alejandro said softly. "Whatever it is, we can fix it."

There was a long pause before he heard the sound of her footsteps approaching the door. When she opened it, her eyes were red and puffy, clearly from crying. Seeing her like that broke his heart. He wanted nothing more than to wrap her in his arms and make it all better.

Amira stepped aside, letting him in, and without a word, she handed him her phone, showing him the picture.

"This is why I've been ignoring you," she said quietly, her voice thick with emotion. "I don't know why I let myself get attached, Alejandro. This always happens. People always disappoint me."
