It was a peaceful evening at the villa, a rare moment of relaxation after the tension-filled dinner. Everyone had retreated to Amira and the other girls' shared space, the air buzzing with laughter and lighthearted teasing. The living room was a mix of vibrant energy, with snacks spread across the coffee table and music playing softly in the background.
Lamine Yamal was holding court, animatedly recounting a story from the national team's training camp. "So Tori decides she's going to cook for everyone," he said, barely able to keep a straight face. "She said she was making her special mac and cheese, but I swear, it could've been used as bricks for a house."
The room erupted into laughter, everyone turning to Tori, who sat on the couch with her arms crossed and a playful scowl.
"Oh, come on, Lamine!" Tori exclaimed, throwing a pillow at him. "It wasn't that bad."
"It was, though!" Lamine doubled over, dodging the pillow. "I tried to bite into it, and I'm pretty sure I chipped a tooth!"
Even Pedri, usually reserved, was laughing so hard he had tears in his eyes. "Lamine, stop, you're going to kill me," he wheezed.
Amira chuckled along with the group, her spirits lifting slightly as she watched her friends joke around. Alejandro was seated beside her, his arm resting casually along the back of the couch, his presence a steady comfort. Every so often, his hand would brush against hers, sending tiny jolts of warmth through her.
Katie, always quick with a comeback, chimed in. "Honestly, Tori, I think your mac and cheese deserves an award for innovation. It's the first dish that doubles as a self-defense weapon."
Everyone roared with laughter again, and even Tori couldn't keep up her mock annoyance. "Okay, okay, I get it!" she said, throwing her hands up. "Next time, I'll just order takeout."
As the laughter began to settle, Hector Fort leaned back in his chair, a mischievous grin on his face. "Speaking of disasters, does anyone remember when Pablo tried to dye his hair blond? It turned out orange."
Pablo Gavi groaned, covering his face. "Why do you always have to bring that up?"
"Because it was iconic," Luna quipped, smirking. "You looked like a carrot with a football jersey."
The room was alive with banter and camaraderie, the earlier tensions from the trip momentarily forgotten. Amira felt a pang of gratitude for her friends, their laughter and teasing reminding her of why she cherished these moments so much.
But the peace was short-lived.
Chaos Unleashed
The door to the living room flew open with a loud bang, silencing the laughter in an instant. Everyone turned, their smiles fading as Amy Jones stormed in, her heels clicking sharply against the floor. Her eyes scanned the room with a fiery intensity, landing on Amira with a look of pure determination."Amy," Aaliyah said, breaking the silence, her tone laced with irritation. "What the hell are you doing here?"
Amy ignored her, crossing her arms as she addressed the group. "I think it's time some truths came out. Don't you agree, Amira?"
Amira's heart sank, her stomach twisting into knots. She could feel Alejandro's eyes on her, the warmth of his presence now replaced with a heavy weight. "Amy, this isn't the time—"
"Oh, it's the perfect time," Amy interrupted, her voice sharp. "You've been playing house with Alejandro, acting like you're this perfect couple, but you're not being honest with him, are you?"
"What are you even talking about?" Alejandro asked, his voice calm but laced with suspicion.
Before Amira could respond, Katie shot to her feet. "Amy, if you don't leave right now, I swear—"
Amy smirked, clearly enjoying the chaos she was causing. "What are you going to do, Katie? Throw another tantrum?"
That was all it took.
Katie lunged at Amy, grabbing a fistful of her perfectly styled hair. "I've had enough of you!" Katie yelled, dragging Amy toward the door.
The room erupted into chaos as Amy shrieked, flailing her arms in an attempt to fight back. Pablo jumped up, rushing to pull Katie away. "Katie, let her go!" he shouted, trying to separate the two.
"She's not done yet!" Aaliyah yelled, launching herself at Amy as well.
"Tori, help me out here!" Katie called, and Tori didn't hesitate, joining the fray as the girls collectively worked to drag Amy out of the room.
Amy kicked and screamed, her protests growing louder. "Let go of me! You're all insane!"
Pablo finally managed to lift Katie off the ground, carrying her toward the hallway as she continued to thrash. "Put me down, Gavi!" she shouted, her fists still swinging in the air.
Lamine and Hector, watching the scene unfold, were doubled over with laughter, while Pedri simply shook his head in disbelief.
Amira, meanwhile, used the distraction to slip out of the room. Her heart was pounding as she made her way to her bedroom, locking the door behind her. The weight of everything—the tension with Amy, the secrets she was keeping, and the fear of what Alejandro might think—pressed down on her like a tidal wave.
Alejandro knocked on her door moments later, his voice calm but firm. "Amira, let me in. Please."
She hesitated, leaning against the door, her forehead resting against the cool wood. "I can't, Alejandro. Not right now."
"I'm not going anywhere until you open this door," he said, his tone resolute. "You don't have to face this alone, Ria. Whatever it is, I promise I won't get mad."
His use of her nickname broke something inside her. Slowly, she unlocked the door, opening it just enough for him to slip inside before closing it again. Alejandro's eyes softened when he saw her tear-streaked face, and without a word, he pulled her into a tight embrace.
"Talk to me," he murmured. "Whatever it is, we'll figure it out together."
Amira pulled back slightly, her eyes searching his. She knew she couldn't keep running from the truth. "Alejandro, there's something you need to know," she began, her voice trembling. "It's about Amara."
Alejandro frowned, his expression shifting to one of concern. "What about her?"
Before she could respond, the door burst open again, this time revealing Luna, her face pale with worry. "Amy's gone, but she's not finished, Amira. She's threatening to tell everyone."
Amira's breath caught in her throat. Alejandro looked between the two women, his confusion growing. "Tell everyone what?" he asked, his voice firmer now.
Amira's knees felt weak, and she sank onto the edge of her bed. Luna placed a comforting hand on her shoulder, giving her an encouraging nod.
"It's time, Amira," Luna said softly. "He deserves to know."
Taking a deep breath, Amira looked up at Alejandro, her eyes filled with tears. "Amara... she's not my sister, Alejandro. She's my daughter."
The words hung in the air, heavy and unyielding. Alejandro stared at her, his expression unreadable. For a moment, it felt like the world had stopped spinning.
Before he could respond, another voice cut through the silence.
"Does he know who the father is?"
The three of them turned to see Michael standing in the doorway, a triumphant smirk on his face. "Or is that another secret you're planning to keep?"
