Madison's POV
I'd had the race on in the background whilst I was doing some chores around the house for my mom whilst she was out, only momentarily taking a break when I was distracted by the interview with Y/n which by now was about 2 hours ago.
If they stayed on track with the schedule he should be in within the next few minutes, and confirming it soon after was the attractive sight of him fully suited up on the wall as the car rolled towards him down the pitlane.
One crew member pounced onto the front and cleaned the windscreen as the other mechanics zipped around putting new tyres on, Y/n disappeared into the cockpit and the door was slammed shut.
The airline was quickly pulled from the port with a dramatic hiss and the car hit the floor as the suspension compressed into the wheel arch, firing into life and pulling away on a dime. Still holding onto P4 which was where his teammate brought it in at.
In the grand scheme of things I hadn't known Y/n that long. I'd only known about him since the end of his GT4 Championship at the beginning of last year when it was all over the Spanish news during my tour and fully got close to him a few weeks later at Watkins Glen when I happened to stumble across him testing but despite it, I knew how much this achievement meant to him. This success was a final send off to his past life he left behind to show he can move on after what happened so to see him out there made me unbelievably proud, to the point a tear of happiness probably would've slipped out if I sat for any longer.
He was one of the only people I'd ever known who made me feel so subdued when comparing lives, the others being my parents. Within a year he won 2 titles in two of the hardest championships you can partake in. I still find it hard to believe I even earned the friend status, never mind the fact I somehow won over his heart and get the chance to wake up beside him everyday..
But my mom and Ryder were only a few minutes away by now. They'd been out shopping so in preparation for my trip away from the screen, I tuned into Y/n's Onboard live stream which his car was allocated for the race.
I was admiring his work as he battled the car around in the setting sun when the sound of Ryders car radiated from outside indicating they were finally home.
The garage door clicked as it began to rise and the sun seeped into the garage as the car slowly came into view.
"Welcome back strangers" I jested as the garage door shifted above me when it hit the bump stops. Ryder scoffed and opened the rear doors of his car. I hadn't been outside yet so my eyes took some time to adjust to the sun which was bright as it continued to get lower in the sky and the radiating air was warm,
"Evening Lazy" My mom said handing over a bag of snacks to me. "How's he doing?"
"First of all, I'm not lazy" My mom met my statement with a look of shock.
"Madison you woke up at 11am, we've been gone since 10. I'd call it Laziness" She added as her and Ryder juggled the bags in their hands,
"Well I've since made myself food and done everything around the house you needed doing so is it really laziness?" I backed myself up, leading the way into the house.
"We'll see how well you've done but thank you anyway" she said appreciatively before diverting the topic off me. "Did you say where Y/n was?"
"4th. he got in like 10 minutes ago....why, are you invested?"
"Well I didn't think I would be he's a nice guy so it'd be rude not to be" She chuckled seeing the bags down and beginning to pass the contents to Ryder who was running around placing them in their respective spots. "Hey also, I'm thinking of making chicken parmesan and pasta skillet tonight, how does that sound?"
