Chapter 5

Heeseung's pov:

I arrived at Busan City Hospital around 1:30 p.m.There, without a second's delay,I asked the receptionist for Grandpa's cabin no.Then I ran to Grandpa's cabin. From my childhood,everyone said that I am a strong-willed boy.I also think the same.But I am very weak towards two people in my life.One is my Grandpa,the other is the only love of my life,my Sunghoon. When I hear any bad news about them,I can't keep myself strong anymore. The main Artisan of my strong spirit is my Grandpa.After my parents' death when I was young,he took care of me alone.He is the one who raised me as a confident,strong and responsible person.He has taught me to be strong & fight back in the time of danger. And today that person is sick and lying on the hospital bed.I can't hold back my tears anymore.
I stood in front of Cabin's door and wiped my tears well.Then I slowly opened the door and entered to see Grandpa lying on the bed.He had an oxygen mask on.A patient monitor next to him was showing his heart rate which was very low.I looked at Grandpa and couldn't hold back my tears anymore.My always lively Grandpa is looking very pale and weak.I went and quietly sat on the tool near the bed.There was a nurse in the room.She signaled me to be quiet because Grandpa was sleeping then.I nodded my head in reply.I held my Grandpa's hand with my both hands gently.Then I sat there silently for an half hour.I waited For Grandpa to wake up.
After a while,Doctor Kim Entered in the room.I bowed my head slightly and she nodded in response.She came near to Grandpa & checked his pulse and heartbeat once.Then after checking some more things she called me in her Chamber to talk about Grandpa.I entered in the chamber & took a sit on the chair.
"Doctor kim,How's my Grandpa's condition right now?'' I asked Desperately.
"Sorry to say Mr.Evan.But Your Grandpa's condition is not well at all.His heart rate is very low.Brain is responsing so slowly.We can't give you any hope right now"answered Doctor Kim with a sigh.
No No No..it can't be.There must be a way to treat My Grandpa.There Should be!
"Why're you saying like this doctor?Don't give up like this.There must be a way to treat him right?isn't there?"
I asked.
"See Mr.Evan.We're Doctors.All we can do Is to Try our best to treat a patient.And we're already doing that.But We can't really give you any hope to you right now.Cuz Your Grandpa's Condition is really not so well right now.I'm really sorry to say but it may be some last time for him.Stay prepared for any situation"
Told Dr.Kim.
The lightning broke into my head when I heard the words.
NO...IT CAN'T BE...WHAT DID SHE MEAN BY SOME LAST TIME?...
IT CAN'T BE...GRANDPA CAN'T LEAVE ME LIKE THIS...
"No no..Doctor.what're you saying?It can't be Possible right?My Grandpa is very strong person.He'll be okay"
"I know it's heartbreaking for you Mr.Evan.But You have to face the truth of Life" said Dr.Kim with a sigh.
I could not say anything back to her.Words are not coming out Of my Throat.I sat there Like a lifeless puppet just.
"Your Grandpa was Desperate to See you.At a point We convinced Him that we would Call you if he sleep.only after that He decided to sleep" spoke Dr.kim.
I just Looked at Dr.Kim.I could not say anything at that moment.
Right at that time,I nurse Entered in The Chamber.
"Doctor,Cabin no.245 patient has woke up.He's wanting to see his grandson" Told the nurse to Dr.Kim
"Oh.Mr.Evan.I think you should go & meet your Grandpa now" Dr. kim said to me.
I immediately stood up & rushed to Grandpa's cabin.
I opened the door slowly & saw Grandpa awake.He was lying on the bed with his oxyzen mask on.Jake was sitting beside Grandpa,holding his one hand.His eye were swollen & red from crying.By the way,Jake is a boy Who's been living With my Grandpa in our Busan House since he was 8 years old.I was like 13 years old when Grandpa brought him in our house.As far as i know,His grandma & my grandpa was so close.So when his Grandma  Died My Grandpa took his responsibility.He never cared about Jake less than me.Grandpa raised him just like his grandson.Also i never had any problem with that cuz My Grandpa always treats everyone Just & fairly.As far as i noticed,Jake was always A quite & polite boy.He loves my grandpa & also take care of him.But even though we lived around 5 years in the same house,We never talked with each other that much.It's not for any negative issue.we simply lived in our own different paths of life.He was quite,also i never tried to talk with him that much.That was it like.But i can't deny that He is not polite.He always greeted me politely whenever we met.And just a Little bit talks about how was he or me,then that's it.

Whatever,I Walked toward My Grandpa.Jake bowed to me & stood up from the tool,leaving it for me to sit.I sat on the tool & held my Grandpa's hand gently.He motioned me to take off his oxygen mask.I did as he said after Taking a confirmation from the working nurse there.
"You've come Evan.I was waiting for you dear.." Grandpa Said in very weak & low voice.
"Yes Grandpa.See?Your Evan is here.Now Get okay Soon please.I'll take you to home"I said with a nod.I was trying so hard to hold back my tears.
Grandpa just chuckled weakly after hearing my words.I looked at him With a confused look.
"My little grandson. Seems like i've taught you well.You're pretending to be strong even though you know Grandpa's not gonna go home with you anymore.."He said With a soft weak smile.His words Broke my heart into pieces.He Knew.
"No no Grandpa. Why're you Saying like this?You'll be okay.We'll go home soon.Don't say like this.." I replied,Tears are automatically rolling down my eyes.I heared Jake was sobbing there,standing beside Grandpa's bed.
"Evan...Try to understand dear..You're my Strong and mature grandson.Every human is mortal.Your Grandpa is no exception dear.It's my time to go to my real destination" told Grandpa.
I started crying like child Hugging my grandpa.I didn't have any words left in my Throat after hearing his words.Jake's sobs was getting louder too.
"Evan..Dear.Don't cry.Listen to me.I have to tell you something" Said Grandpa.
I wiped my eyes & Let go off the hug.
"Yes Grandpa.Tell me"
"Promise me Evan.Promise me that you'll keep my request" Said Grandpa.
"Of course Grandpa.Tell me what's it?" I replied.
"Promise me first." Said Grandpa.
