Sean's pov
We walked through the hallways until we reached the elevator and went two floors higher. After a few seconds, the doors opened, and we stepped out, walking towards the recording studio.
"Welcome to the recording studio, Sean," Direk said as he opened the door.
I was immediately struck by the studio's size and how sleek and pristine everything looked. The cold air carried the faint scent of polished wood and equipment. It felt like a place where magic happens.
"Amazing, right? That's almost everyone's reaction after seeing a recording studio for the first time," Direk said with a knowing smile.
"Yes, it really is amazing," I said, still in awe.
I scanned the room, taking in all the equipment. The consoles, microphones, soundproof walls—it was overwhelming but exciting. I barely heard Direk as he introduced me to someone.
"Sean, I'd like you to meet our head of music production, Luis."
I turned and approached him, extending my hand. "Hello, sir. I'm Sean Godfrey. It's a pleasure to meet you."
"The pleasure's mine," Luis responded with a warm smile.
Direk then briefed Luis on what we were here for, while I stood there, a mix of excitement and nervousness building in my chest. After a few moments, they finished talking.
"So tingnan natin skills mo if it's up to par Sean, you can go inside and perform a song for us" he said
"Original or cover?" I asked
"You could give us one original and one cover para mas madali namin ma-dissect ang skills mo," Direk replied.
"How's your proficiency with instruments?" Luis asked, standing at the mixer, already looking curious.
"I play keyboards, drums, bass, and guitar," I said.
"Your mastery?" Luis pressed.
"I'm pretty good with all of them," I replied confidently.
"Great. Then I won't need to play any minus-one tracks," he said, a hint of amusement in his voice.
I nodded and walked over to the instruments. I picked up an acoustic guitar, checking the tuning. Satisfied, I made my way into the recording room, taking a deep breath. Direk and Luis stood outside the glass, watching me with anticipation.
"Whenever you're ready, Sean," Luis said through the microphone.
I stepped on the looping station, fingers gliding over the keys of the keyboard. The soft notes echoed through the room, and I pressed down on the loop pedal, locking the melody in. With the looping station, I could layer the sounds, creating a one-man band experience.
Now on to the guitar. I started fingerpicking a delicate riff, building the layers one by one. I loved this part—the moment when everything comes together, like a symphony made of my own hands.
"Okay Luis I'm gonna start with a cover"

Sean leaned into the microphone, his eyes closing as he strummed his guitar in time with the looping station's layers. He started singing, his voice smooth and full of emotion as he began.

His voice was clear, controlled, with each note hitting the perfect pitch, as if the song was crafted specifically for his tone.
