(REQUESTED. also, ty 4 requesting this, i have been DESPERATE to write an angst. especially right after being an emo :3 )

Jake is laying in bed, rethinking his life choices, the fact his ex didn't want him and how even Tom didn't want him. He considered himself a failure after failing winning the season, he had gotten so far and not gotten eliminated for months on end, yet he failed. Once again.

Jake is burying his face into his pillow as he begins to son as all the sad memories flood his mind once more. The more he thought about it, the stronger the urges he had got. He had previously struggled mentally. He thought it was getting better; it wasn't.

Jake had locked the door to his bedroom right as he broke down on the floor. His tears soaked his sleeves as he tried to wipe away the tears, every single breath he took felt more quickening and sudden. It felt like he was gasping for air, not breathing.

Jake's mind flashed with images of his parents disappointed as he revealed he was gay. Once they had seen season 1, all contact was cut. The only person that cared died that year too. He remembered days when he was still a child when he and his grandma would run around on the fields near her house, smelling flowers and making bracelets.

Only she understood him. Only she considered him worth something. His brother was somewhat isolating too. They hadn't spoken for.. well months on end. Jake knew his parents had something to do with this, and it made him depressed and tired.

Jake felt his chest burn internally as his breathing became more rapid the more the thoughts lingered within him. Jake was trying to calm down, trying to use methods to slow his breathing down, but he just ended up spluttering and going back to crying.

A knock on the door.

Jake flinched at the knock and put his ear to the door.

Hunter.

Hunter spoke gently from the other side of the door, trying to not startle Jake.

"Jake, can I come in?"

Jake hesitated to open the door while continuing to panic and somewhat hyperventilate. He then twisted the lock to let Hunter in. After a few seconds Hunter slowly pushed open the door slightly, seeing the panicked Jake on the ground, trying to even out his breathing.

Hunter kneeled down on the ground in front of Jake and held his hands while rubbing his knuckles.

"Jake, look at me.. please?"

Jake slowly looked at him, his eyes puffy from all the tears he has just gone through.

"Jake, I want you to take 1 deep breath, come on, we'll do it together. Inhale.. yeah, now exhale. Now keep doing that, yeah baby?"

Jake nodded and continued breathing with Hunter to calm down, and surprisingly, it was somehow working. Jakes loud cries and intense breathing had now simply turned into sobs.

Jake buried his face in Hunter's chest. Hunter then pulled Jake on his lap and ran his fingers through his hair. Hunter's other arm was patting Jake's back as he continued soaking Hunter's sweatshirt, but he couldn't care less at this moment.

A couple minutes later Hunter could see that Jake was started to get exhausted after crying so much. He gently lifted Jake up into his arms and carried him over to the bed, carefully placing him on it. He then got in next to him and pulled the covers over both of them before Jake started to cling to him.

"Jake, wanna talk about what happened..?"

Jake shook his head and Hunter respected that. He Just kept comforting Jake as much as he could. He pulled Jake to his side and gently kissed his forehead. He looked down at Jake to see him sleeping peacefully. Hunter kept rubbing Jake's back as he peacefully slept.
