"Hey! Hey! Quiet! We can't have everyone in the neighborhood waking up." Whispered my uncle while slightly panicking

"R-right, sorry I was just a bit surprised." I answered trying to calm myself down

I mean who wouldn't be surprised? It's not everyday you come across a dead body. At least I hope this isn't an everyday thing in this country, because there's no way I could handle this much action on a regular basis.

"It's fine. I suppose it can be a bit shocking to see your first dead body. But hey, I guess this will be a good experience for you before you head to med school," my uncle said calmly.

Talk about looking at the bright side! I guess being a detective for so long must've numbed the shock of looking at dead bodies. I'm not sure whether to find that impressive or terrifying.

"I've already called the ambulance and the police so you can head back inside. I'll stay here to guard the scene." Said my uncle

"I mean, I can stay here if you want. I'm still pretty alert considering everything that has happened." I said

"Nah it's fine, it's just a common car accident so I doubt the police would need to question you."

"Right.. I'll head back then. Good luck with.... All this." I said unsure of what to say

I can't believe I witnessed a car crash victim just within a few hours of being here. I must've brought some kind of bad luck with me from back home. Or maybe that crying child on the plane last night was some kind of a bad omen. Either way, I'm way too tired to be experiencing this right now.

Just as I started walking back to the house, the gate of the neighboring house swung open, and a man suddenly stepped out. He was tall - taller than my uncle - and slightly bulkier as well. He had a chevron-style mustache and what I could only describe as a long 90s-style slicked-back haircut. At first glance, he might have seemed younger, but the hints of gray in his hair suggested that he was definitely of age. He wore a pair of brown cargo shorts and a white t-shirt, complemented by a pair of gold-framed glasses and a silver plated watch on his left hand. Even in his casual outfit, it was clear that he was some sort of prestigious figure.

As the man stepped out, I noticed that he was dragging someone by the arm. He was pulling with a significant amount of force too, so whoever he was dragging clearly did not want to come along.

"If you're not gonna sleep then you might as well be of use!" Said the man to the person he was dragging

"Okay I'll go to sleep just stop this! Please!" Answered the person while getting dragged out

"Too late for that now! It's this or I'm confiscating your video games!"

"NO! Sighh.... Fine! But let go already!"

The man then released his grip, and they both walked out together. I could finally see the person he had been dragging - a boy, probably around my age. He had a slightly long, extremely messy black hair. Honestly, I'm not too sure on how to describe his hairstyle. It looked like an overgrown, untreated middle-part perm. He was wearing a loosely fitted black t-shirt and a pair of gray jogger pants. In contrast to the man dragging him, the boy didn't exude any sense of prestige - especially with those rainbow flip-flops he got on. He was also a bit short in height, well he's still taller than me but for a guy, he definitely wasn't what I would call tall. Considering how casually he was manhandled, it was pretty clear that the man and the boy were probably father and son.

"This has got to be breaking some kind of child protection laws!" Said the boy annoyed

"Probably, too bad you're not a child anymore." said the man sarcastically
