PART 1!⭐️The confession⭐️ | Lapidot (Mortal AU)

Peridot and lapis had been friends since the fifth grade, when they met. Now they were entering high school. Lapis had come to terms with the fact that they were in somewhat a situationship. She really wanted much more though. Everytime they touched she wanted to kiss her. Peridot was in...somewhat of a denial. Her mind was constantly racing with thoughts about her seemingly uninterested friend. But she had to dismiss them all, because somehow "I only think of her as a friend..." she mumbled aloud, yet everything else said otherwise. But she needed to recite these words because she knew not wether the hidden feelings were reciprocated. "Are you reading your Camp Pining Hearts fanfics out loud again?" Lapis' voice came up from behind her. Peridot jumped. "OH, Lazuli! I, uh..." And she was stumbling through her words as usual. Just great. Lapis knew her well enough not to mind though.

"It's ok if a response is too complicated for you right now."
Peridot sighed. "How do you know me so well?" Lapis simply shrugged in response. "I'm just cool like that."
A comfortable silence followed. Lapis looked kind of sad. Although she always did. "Hey..." Lapis said with nervousness. "Do you maybe wanna stay over after school? Like for a sleepover?"
If there was something Peridot could respond to easily, it was that. "Yes."

Before Peridot could even prepare for going inside Lapis' house, their shared neighbour, Steven, had decided to show up. "Hey Lapis! Hey Peridot!" He panted, out of breath from running over.  "What's up?" "Oh it's nothing, Peri's just coming over to mine today." Lapis replied cooly. Peridot simply nodded, trying to look as natural as Lapis but probably failing. "Cool! Well, have fun you guys, I'm gonna go get some doughnuts!" Steven exclaimed, his face lighting up with a smile at the mere thought of doughnuts. Lapis smiled back at him, "Okay, have fun!" 

"Steven really likes doughnuts." Peridot stated. "Yeah, they're his favourite." Lapis replies, still smiling lightly as she opened the door to her house. Peridot walked in and slipped out of her boots. Suddenly, she recalled something that made her blush and fumble, tripping over her boots and barely catching herself. "Lazuli. Why'd you call me 'Peri'?" She asked carefully, setting her boots back in place to avoid having to make any eye contact. "Why do you call me Lazuli?" Lapis said right back with an amused edge to her voice. "It's just a little nickname." 

They went up the stairs to Lapis' room in another semi-comfortable silence. Before either of them could sit down, Peridot's phone buzzed loudly. She unlocked it only to find it in spotify, displaying the playlist themed around Lapis that she'd forgotten she'd been working on. "What was that?" Lapis' voice came from behind her as she rapidly exited the app. "UHHHNOTHING. NOTHING." Peridot replied anxiously while cursing herself in her head. "That was not nothing, Peridot, what was on your phone?" Lapis questioned her again, though this time it sounded more like a demand. "It's none of your buisness!!" Peridot replied more defensively. 

"Alright that's it, let me see that." Lapis reached out for Peridot's phone, but she just tried to push her away. "NOOO!!" She cried, starting to look like a gremlin as she tried to escape Lapis' grasp. But it's pretty obvious who's got more physical strength, and Lapis used it to grab Peridot's phone out of her hand while pinning her down. "Let me see this..." Lapis mumbled as she went back into Spotify. "PLEASE DONTT" Peridot protested.  The playlist was titled Lapis Lazuli, and all the songs were hinting at a quiet beautiful person who was in touch with yet hated the ocean. (Yes guys you could totally make a playlist that feeds into that stop hating on me in your heads) 

"Oh...this is actually pretty nice." Lapis blushed as she scrolled through the playlist. "What even is this?" "Read the title." Peridot mumbled in reply, though she was shielding her eyes.  "If this is about me, than why is Percy on the cover?" "YOU DO HIS VOICE WELL!!" "Well yeah..."

Percy was peridot's favourite character. And fictional crush.
