Peridot walked through the darkness. It was summer, and she not remember why she was out here but she sure was. Her footsteps were loud, alive without any others to drown them out. Then one was softer as she realized her boot had touched sand. There it was— the beach of beach city. No one really went in this area though, it was where Steven and his crystal gems roamed. There was literally a fence right...that was it. The adrenaline inducing act Peridot would be doing to spicen up her own dull human life. Tresspassing. "Nyehehe..." Plus, she thought to herself as she grabbed the fence, she knew Steven, it'd be fine.

"Oh my..stars..." she grunted, realizing that this proved to be much more difficult than she'd thought it'd be. "If I could...just..." She squirmed round, attempting and failing to properly lift herself up. Water. Around her than into her face--her eyes instinctively forced themselves shut against the shocking current. Before she even had time to process, though, it was gone. She gasped and opened her eyes, feeling some water trail out her mouth as she did so, wiping hair off of her forehead. She blinked twice. There was a girl, in front of her, on the beach. Her hair was a very unnaturally bright blue, which stood out, even from the ocean's glimmering waves that'd just somehow threatened to drown her.

But it wasn't just this girl's shocking blue hair that drew her in, but the droplet shaped gem on her back. "A lapis lazuli..." the gem turned around at that. Steven had told peridot about the crystal gems, but this certainly was not garnet amethyst or pearl... "Who-what?" It was too dark to see the girl's expression or face, but she could hear the distress in her voice. "Are you..."

Peridot really had no idea what she was doing here, or what'd just happened, or who this girl was, but she had one very probable guess. Gem stuff. She was not supposed to be involved with gem stuff, she'd sworn to stop researching it a long time ago after it'd put her in real danger. Plus, dumb gem stuff wouldn't have gotten her anywhere, she was just a boring old human who needed to study human things, rather than... She was just standing there and staring. They were just standing there and staring at each other as the wind howled in their ears.

Why wasn't she running away? "Who...are you?" The girl asked defensively, narrowing her eyes. "I am Peridot-" "A Peridot?" She got up, her blue dress lifting with her as she looked closer at the normal teenage girl in front of her. "But where's your--you don't look like a Peridot." She pointed out. "I'm..not a *Peridot*, that's just my name..." Peridot explained with a sigh. "I'm just a basic old human." She should be running away about now. But she wasn't. She was taking another step towards the fence separating them. "But you're a Lapis Lazuli? Like the gem?" She asked, and it sounded strange with no skeptism attached.

The girl just stared, her weirdly dark eyes digging into Peridot's soul. "It's only fair y-I answered your questions..." She let out nervously. The girl narrowed her eyes. Peridot felt the wetness all around her body again, lifting her- "Wait, wait, s-stoppit- I'm sorry!" She croaked, kicking her legs back and forth, trying to get the water that circled her torso back in the ocean where it came from. She looked down at the girl who was lifting her from the other side of the fence between them.

She felt herself lift even more and panic started rising in her chest as she went straight over the fence. She wanted some adrenaline, something, but this was not- "Please, please, I wanna go down- if you're homeless you can get mine rent free I'll even pay for your college and um I'll you can have free food if-" "I'll put you down." Her unsure yet threatening and cold voice came. And just like that, the water spilled into the hard sand with her. The impact hurt a bit, but it wasn't too high up...

She coughed and shook off the water, letting it meld into the already-wet sand that surrounded her, sticking to her body even as she started to stand up. Right above her, was Lapis Lazuli. Her face was now close enough that she could see straight into her dark eyes. Big, pretty, and staring her down. She was tall, tall enough compared to peridot's short ass that she had to look up quite a bit even standing up to her full height, which made ms water alien lady all the more intimidating.
Peridot couldn't do much but stare and notice more details. Her skin was blue, her hair was cut in such an inhuman way, kind of like hers. If this girl went to my school, she'd probably get bullied too...But I assume she could fight back She thought, continuing to look into the gem above her, remembering the water that'd just enclosed around her.

A cold wet hand moved, reaching out to feel the human's thick, wet blonde hair. Peridot shivered.
