The Apprentice.

Chapter Nine

A/N: I am so sorry I have been gone from this story for so long it's been a hectic few weeks with some health conditions I've been dealing with but I havn't forgotten about this story.

Carly practically skipped into the nursery on Monday morning, Her head was still reeling after Friday night, her first proper kiss, in fact her first proper make out session! Carly couldn't quite believe it had happened, to her. This sort of stuff never happened to her but this amazing, incredible girl had chosen Carly. She rushed around the baby room setting it up almost in auto pilot she couldn't get the other apprentice's face out of her mind, the way her eyes gleamed, her soft pink lips, the way her hair felt in her hands, how her body felt against hers. 

"someone's in a happy mood today" a voice sang out chuckling slightly. 

"Oh Hi Char" Carly responded to the older woman smiling. 

"Have a nice weekend?" Charlotte asked her face eyeing Carly, she knew from Mia that Carly had been to see Annie on Friday night and had stayed the night as when Mia came back after visiting Char she found the two curled up on the sofa cuddling. 

Carly smiled, seeing Charlottes face she smirked "Mia tell you did she?"

"She did" Charlotte admitted, "Though all she told me was she found you two fast asleep on the sofa with each other" she leant back against the counter next to Carly. "want to talk about it?"

Carly smiled at her friend, Char was her best friend both inside and outside of the nursery. "Sure, erm" Carly came over and sat against the baby table facing the woman. "We kissed" she began and Charlottes eyes shone gently. 
"Oh and how did that go, How did you feel?"
"it was... nice" Carly smiled remembering it. 
"Just nice?"
Carly laughed "No it was incredible" she shot up off the table making Charlotte jump slightly. 
"Char it was amazing, it just sort of happened! I don't even know how or who it just- Char I've never felt like this before"
Charlotte smiled. "Young love" she smirked hugging her friend. "If it feels right then that's a good thing, just see how it goes"

Carly nodded she was about to ask Charlotte about her weekend when the babies started entering. They were in for a busy day.

Annie smiled as she busied herself that day, she'd spent the morning going to the gym, buying a coffee and comming home to get showered and dressed. She heard the doorbell go as she changed into a pain of skinny jeans and a short black crop top, she towel dried her hair as she heard a knock on her bedroom door. 

"Come in" She called. In walked her maid. "There's someone here to see you miss" 

"Who" Annie answered running a brush through her damp hair. 

"A Mr Thomas Rake" she replied. 

Annie stopped brushing her hair and stared at the maid. "Tom?" she brushed passed her maid and practically ran down the hallway, standing at the bottom of her stairs was a tall boy, his face broke into a huge smile seeing the girl appear. "Hey Annie, miss me?"

Annie smiled and ran down the stairs jumping onto him hugging him gently, her eyes filled with tears and she cried. He smiled kicking the door of the living room open taking her inside. "I've missed you too" he chuckled setting her gently on the sofa. 

He sat down beside the girl who was wiping her eyes, her brilliant smile never leaving her face. "What are you doing here?" she asked taking his hand. "I thought you never wanted to see me again" she muttered. 

"Well you did like dump me, breaking my heart and leaving in the middle of the night" he smiled gently seeing the hurt look on her face. "But I don't hold grudges and I was in the area" He smiled. 

Annie and Tom had dated for almost 2 years when younger, he'd been there for her when her family died, he'd helped move her when Rodger hurt her, they'd clung to each other having no one else to be with. Tom knew everything about her, he never judged her for her life and he was a great guy, he'd struggled himself with trauma in his past, his mother had been in a car crash leaving her in a coma for 8 months before the decision was made to turn off her life support and since then his father had been absent, he cared for Tom but the life had left his eyes and he never looked at Tom the same way again. 

"Tom I'm so happy you're here and I'm so sorry for leaving the way I did, it wasn't fair to you." She smiled gently as her maid brought in a plate with tea and biscuits on it. "Why did you leave like that?" Tom asked taking a cup off the tray. 

"I don't know" she sighed. "It all felt like so much and I just, I guess I panicked, we were so close back then and my thoughts got the better of me" she sighed. "I wasn't ready for all that you were asking" He nodded. 

"I'm sorry Annie, I never should have asked you to marry me" she laughed. "Yeah never thought I'd be getting proposed to on my 18th birthday" she smiled gently. "I'm sorry if I embarrassed you by running off."

He itched the back of his head gently. "no not at all" he replied sarcastically. 

He smiled at Annie. "It wasn't fair that I did that to you, not after what you suffered" He placed a hand on her thigh. "I'm glad I get to see you now though".

Carly practically ran out of the nursery that evening, she'd caught the bus to Annie's and skipped up the driveway she couldn't wait to see her again especially since Annie had been weirdly quiet through texts today. She shot through the front door and stood still. 

"I swear to god Annie I'll force the food down you if I have to" Tom laughed walking out of the front room with Annie thrown over his shoulder. Not noticing the door open he gave her ass a playful smack before turning to Carly. "Annie you have a guest" he smiled dropping the girl. 

"Oh Carly hi this is -" before she got a chance to finish Carly was back out the front door and gone. 

A/N - I had to throw a bit more drama into this story, what do we think guys? Also I'm thinking of writing a Mialotte story next any thoughts? xx
