The Ink Machine had been left alone in the Archgate archives for a while. The Dark Puddles couldn't tell how long it had been since Wilson Arch had approached it with Audrey Drew, but it felt as if it's been an eternity.
It was quiet, and all was peaceful, for the first time in a long while.
The entity felt something warm in itself in that moment, causing the machine to stir softly, like a baby kicking its mother's womb.
"Ink Demon, Bendy.." The Dark Puddles muttered to itself. It couldn't tell what was happening within the cycle, but it could feel that one of them was feeling gleeful.
It wished it could let out a sigh of relief.
At least, at the very least, the cycle was safer from external forces for a while.
If it could just keep hiding.
Click
The Dark Puddles jolted. It could hear the noise of the light switch being turned on again, as it grew wary.
The sounds of heels clicking against the tiled floor grew louder and louder.
What a familiar noise...
The Dark Puddles trembled. It desperately hoped it wasn't that person. It wished it was anybody else but him.
"Hello?"
An extremely, extremely familiar voice spoke.
The fear in its heart plummeted in an instant. It felt its breath slowing down, as it wondered what to do.
Pretend to be inactive? No, he will surely wake it up.. pretend to be broken? That would lead to an even worse outcome... it immediately began to think of any way to escape this predicament.
If it were in the past, it would probably not hesitate to call the Ink Demon, or even cut down that man itself. Unfortunately, neither of them were in their optimal states.
What the Dark Puddles was right now was no different to an ordinary pile of ink in a typical glass inkwell.
"You are here!" The voice brightened, as the entrance door slowly creaked open.
Move...
Move..
Just.. move..
Please..!
No matter how hard it struggled, it didn't manage to even move its own vessel.
The chains that were once as free to move as its own limbs simply laid there, no different from an ordinary rusty chain.
The unwanted visitor's face came into its vision, his lips curling up in ecstasy.
"Hello, again!" That annoying voice greeted, bowing down politely.
"Long time no see, my lord. I can't believe you've been hiding here all along."
The Dark Puddles thrashed about, but was unable to do a single thing as the scarred and burnt hand reached out for its cold, metal surface.
It could only scream one thing, repeatedly, over and over again.
"Leave!!"
