Day 31 : The End

Henry once thought for a long, long time, a single question.

When would his journey come to a close?

Then, as unpredictable changes began to erupt left and right, that question slowly changed.

What would he see at the end of this journey?

He imagined that it would end when he left Joey Drew Studios. He imagined that the cycle might somehow be miraculously broken on its own, then he'd proceed to leave, return to his family, and live on as he once did.

Then, he heard the tales of Joey Drew studios after his absence from Allison and Tom.

Tom thought he could destroy the machine and stop it all, that going to Atlantic City would be the end of it.

It wasn't the end, just yet.

Then, many tried to stop Joey's deeds. Tom ran away from the studios.

Yet it still wasn't the end.

After that, Tom tried one last time, at his own home ground, Gent.

He thought it was truly the end then.

But no.

The fact that Henry was here, in such a distorted world, was living proof of it.

Then, the cycle, the TVs, the collision of the real world, the presumed happy ending..

There's nothing that had come to an end yet.

What end would I see at this long, drawn out drama?

He kept pushing forward, day by day, driven by the desire to see a happy end.

To get to live again.

If he couldn't see the ending, then he might be able to create that end himself.

"Has that question changed, once again?"

A voice echoed in his mind, as Henry cast his gaze at the twisting, ever-changing environment around him. Lines were drawn over and over again, erasing as they were created. Familiar figures seemed to appear in the sepia void, running over in a frenzy, before exploding into blobs of ink. He saw something that seemed like The Ink Demon, Bendy and Audrey, before those things too, quickly disappeared and reappeared.

He felt like he was watching the end of his story, but at the same time, it demanded to press on, unwilling to let itself end.

Something seemed to come to Henry in that moment, as he watched everything in awe, and sheer terror.

"Is there no end to it all..?"
