Josh woke up, the events from yesterday still not completely digested. Did this make him and Tyler friends? Or were they just going to occasionally make music together to practice? He decided not to think much of it and got ready for his day.

His classes all blurred together again and it was finally time for lunch. Josh decided to bring his own for once and was already sitting down at his usual table before most people were even in the room. He noticed Debby walking through the doors, but immediately after, felt a hand hit his back.

"Hey man!" Tyler exclaimed, passing by to go to his table.

Josh offered a small wave and smile as Tyler continued on.

"What was that?!" Debby yelled out at Josh as she dropped her bag next to her.

Josh shrugged in response and started to eat the food he brought. Debby quickly snatched the food out of his hands and crossed her arms, waiting for a response. He rolled his eyes at her and grabbed his food back.

"I told you, he asked if I wanted to play that day, I went yesterday and we played. Your fault you didn't believe me!"

Debby continued to look at the boy in disbelief but quickly let it go as she started to a tell a story about some guy in her class. Josh looked up towards Tyler's table and saw him with his normal group, except today Jenna Black was sitting with them.

Jenna was the cheer captain, and perfect in most people's eyes. Josh had heard her and Tyler referred to as a "power couple" and everyone was under the impression they were dating and perfect for each other, even if no one has seen them kiss or even hold hands. He sighed and looked away, not wanting to disrupt the couple with more awkward eye contact.

It was the end of the day again, and Josh has made it his new routine to stop by the music room. To no surprise, Tyler was in there waiting, and offered him a wave.

"How was your day man?"

"Pretty good, I saw you with Jenna at lunch today, how are you two doing?"

Tyler gave Josh a confused look in response but then realized what he meant and shook his head aggressively.

"We aren't together, not sure why everyone thinks that. She's my best friend but she's not... quite my type" Tyler answered, nervously playing with his shirt.

"Oh? What do you mean?"

Tyler stared back blankly at Josh before responding.

"I'm gay, man, you didn't know that?"

Suddenly Josh's entire view on Tyler shifted. Not that it was a bad thing, but he didn't expect the most popular guy in the school to be gay, and to be so open about it. Josh shook his head and Tyler let out a small laugh.

"All good man, we don't see each other much so makes sense you didn't know"

Josh was still slightly shocked at the information, and didn't really have the confidence to tell Tyler he was gay as well. Although, with how many people throw slurs at him in the hallway, it was probably common knowledge at this point.

They followed their same routine, playing some originals Tyler had written, playing some covers, and just chatting a bit before Tyler had to go for practice. While packing up their stuff, Tyler slipped a piece of paper into Josh's bag with a wink and made his way out of the room. Josh decided not to think much of it for now and just continued to grab his stuff. He would worry about it when he got home.

Laying his things on his desk in his room, the paper slid out, dragging Josh's attention to it. His face broke out into a smile when he noticed the numbers written on it accompanied by a small smiley face. It wasn't until he remembered the wink Tyler gave him that his face turned bright red.
