You strode through the company lobby with a steady air of authority, each step purposeful as you moved directly toward your office. Your secretary, Josh, followed closely behind, his eyes glued to the glowing screen of his ever-present iPad, tapping swiftly.
"Ma'am, you've got a meeting with Cervix in ten minutes, lunch plans at three, and some office tasks at five. After that, you're free for the day," Josh recited, his voice as precise and mechanical as his fingers, never straying from the smooth rhythm of your schedule.
"Lunch plans?" you asked, raising an eyebrow as you glanced at Josh.
He barely looked up from his iPad, scrolling through the schedule. "Yes, ma'am. Dinner at three with Mr. Lee from the overseas branch. It was confirmed this morning," he replied smoothly, as if it were just another item on the long list of your day.
You nodded, but a slight frown tugged at your lips. "Right. I must've missed that one," you muttered, thinking back to how packed your week had been.
"Status?" you asked, your tone sharp and to the point.
Josh didn't need any more context. Without missing a beat, he replied, "It's not confirmed yet, ma'am. Hopefully, Mr. Kim sides with us. We're still waiting on his final decision."
You nodded, your mind already running through possible scenarios. "Keep me updated," you instructed, your gaze narrowing as you entered your office. The outcome of Mr. Kim's decision could either push the project forward or stall it indefinitely.
"Get me my breakfast," you said, your tone commanding yet calm as you settled into your chair.
Josh nodded without hesitation. "Right away, ma'am," he responded, swiftly exiting the office to carry out your request
"Ma'am, the lunch meeting with Mr. Lee has been postponed to 3:30, and you've got a parcel," Josh informed you as you finally sat down after the grueling three-hour-long meeting.
"From who?" you asked, eyeing the sleek, aesthetically wrapped box he slid onto your desk.
"No name, ma'am," Josh replied, but that was all you needed to know exactly who it came from. Jeon Jungkook.
A soft sigh escaped your lips as you opened the box, revealing a bottle of Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey-your favorite. Of all the things he could've sent, why would your ultimate charismatic enemy gift you something so personal? Your mind raced. It wasn't just any gesture. Jungkook was never one to do things without a reason, and now you were left wondering what game he was playing this time.
Then, your eyes caught a glimpse of a card tucked neatly inside the box. You picked it up and read the words:
Guess what, Snow, I won. I'll wait for you.
That was all it took to light a fire within you. "Mr. Kim decided?" you asked sharply, your voice cutting through the room like a blade. Josh's face paled as he nervously fumbled with his iPad, glancing at the screen.
"Y-yes, ma'am," he stammered, visibly uneasy under your intense gaze.
That was it. Enough was enough. "Arrange the meeting with the marketing team. Right now," you commanded, standing up abruptly.
