It was the kind of feeling that started as a flutter, soft and unexpected, like the gentle flicker of butterfly wings deep within. Slowly, it grew, spreading warmth through every corner of the heart until it felt impossible to contain.

The next thought that crossed your mind was to ask your dad. If you had a boyfriend before, you would have told him, right? You estimated there was an 80% chance you would have. Why not ask him?
"Okay, Dad," you began, slightly nervous, "if a girl who had a boyfriend lost her memories and then started liking someone else, but she's not sure if she had a boyfriend or not—"
"Wait, is this girl you?" your dad asked, raising his eyebrows but still focused on the road.
"Um, y-yeah. So, did I have a boyfriend before?" you stammered.
"Yeah, you did. So, you're saying you started liking someone else now?" he asked, now paying close attention.
"Yes, his name is Jungkook. I feel bad for my ex. What should I do?" you asked, feeling conflicted.
"Wait, Jungkook? Like Jeon Jungkook?" Dad asked, clarifying.
"Yeah... um, do you know him?" you asked, puzzled.
"Yeah, isn't he one of the top students in your class? That's how I know him," Dad said, clearing up your confusion.
"Oh right, yes. I asked him to prom too. I really feel bad for my ex," you said, fidgeting with your fingers. You were sensitive and always considered everyone's point of view before making a decision.
"Very good, you're on the right track. Just follow your heart," Dad said, leaving you even more confused.
"Following my heart means Jungkook, right?" you replied, closing your eyes and reclining in your seat.
(10/2/23)
"Are you ready?" Dad asked, knocking on your door.
"Yes, Dad, just a minute," you replied, giving your hair a final touch. You were heading to the doctor for a routine check-up to ensure everything was fine with your body.
The doctor had confirmed that you were in good health and had also inquired about your memory. You explained that you were experiencing dreams that seemed like fragmented memories and that you had begun recalling some events from the past two years (2020-2021).
"You don't need to worry about this," the doctor said, while administering an injection. "These are just symptoms of your memory gradually returning. You might not recover all of your memories fully, but you'll likely start to remember key highlights."
He smiled reassuringly. "Keep up with the medication, and I'm confident you'll regain more of your memories soon." His cheerful demeanor and positive attitude were comforting, and you felt a renewed sense of hope from his confidence.

Getting ready for prom was incredibly exciting, especially knowing your date was Jungkook—the boy you loved. It felt fantastic. As you heard your mom's voice calling from downstairs, you made your way carefully down the stairs, determined to make a memorable entrance.
"Y/n, Jungkook is here," your mom announced.
You descended slowly, making sure not to trip, eager to see Jungkook's reaction when he saw you in your dress. As you reached the bottom of the stairs, you saw Jungkook waiting for you, dressed in a striking red suit. He looked timeless, almost otherworldly. You had hoped to make an impact on him, but it seemed he had taken your breath away instead. Jungkook looked absolutely breathtaking.

You walked toward Jungkook, noticing how quickly he and your mom were getting along.
"Mom, you seem like you've known him for a while now," you remarked.
"Ah, well, he's really easy to talk to," your mom replied, looking slightly flustered.
"Okay then, we should get going," you said, standing next to Jungkook.
"Goodbye, honey. Goodbye, son," your mom said. Did she just call him "son"?
"You too, Mo—uh, Aunt," Jungkook replied, waving back. It was clear he hadn't intended to call her by the wrong name.
"You look gorgeous," Jungkook said, opening the door for you.
"You aren't bad yourself," you replied, though you felt he was more than just "not bad." He was perfect. A soft "thank you" escaped his lips as he tried to make conversation, though he seemed a bit shy.
"Want to know why I chose you?" you asked, sensing it was on his mind.
"I do, actually," he replied immediately.
"Following the way of the heart," you answered, confusing him further.
As you arrived at the venue, you linked your arm with Jungkook's and noticed him blushing. Your heart was racing with excitement. The party was set to start at 9, but students were advised to arrive by 8 to enjoy games before dancing.
After a while, the group decided to play the classic game of Truth or Dare. With the teachers absent, the game quickly became lively. The bottle spun, and everyone waited eagerly to see who it would point to next. It landed on Jungkook.
"Dare," he said confidently.
"Okay then, I dare you to propose to Y/n with a kiss," Ethan declared. You remembered Ethan well; he'd once made an inappropriate proposal to you, resulting in a week-long absence after you gave him a well-deserved talk-to his bones. Did he really think you'd react the same way with Jungkook?
"Is that okay with you, Y/n?" Jungkook asked nervously.
"Yes," you replied, giving your consent. Jungkook stepped closer and whispered, "I love you," before gently pressing his lips against yours. His kiss was tender and heartfelt, making you feel like he was made just for you.
When he finally pulled away, you whispered, "I love you too," watching his eyes widen in surprise.
Pulling him by the hand, you led him to a secluded corner, away from prying eyes. Pinning him against the wall, you asked, "Why are you acting like you've never heard it before, googie?"
"G-g-googie?" he stammered, tears welling in his eyes.
"You know I hate it when you cry. Remember, I was going to sue Ironman?" you said, trying to lighten the mood.
"You remember... about us?" he choked out, tears streaming down his face.
"I do, googie. I can't believe I let you suffer like this," you said, hugging him tightly.
"H-hey, don't cry. I don't like seeing you cry either. I love you. Let's not look back, okay?" he said, breaking the hug and gently caressing your cheeks.
"Then be mine again, forever. Don't let anything come between us again," you replied.
"I'm gladly yours, just as you're mine," he said, sealing his promise with another kiss.
