That Friday morning, Ewan left his dorm ahead of schedule to avoid the unsettling feeling of seeing his crush unconscious on his couch, that if any of his other friends were to see him in that state, a huge slander will fall on his name and spread around the whole campus, especially since he lives in a single room of no roommates.

Ever since word broke out about how he confessed to the campus dreamboat Kang Yeosang, he was never able to escape the mockish eyes of the people he passed for weeks. He certainly is not ready to face that again.

And so he left his extra keys and a note on the coffee table right next to where Yeosang sleeps, hoping the said guest knows how to sneak out of the room without getting caught.

Ewan steps out of the dormitory grounds and strolls down the sidewalk, where he can feel the cold breeze caressing his skin. The weather gives him no escape from the anxious feeling bubbling in the pit of his stomach for he had forgotten to leave the heater on, hence he turns back to go and fix it in case Yeosang catches a cold. However, someone familiar was already greeting him from behind.

"Ewan."

He jolts to see Armin standing there with a straight smile. "Hey. You're out early."

"Yeah, I have a shift at the library. Like I always do..."

"Oh, right." Ewan turns away and continues to walk to the opposite direction. Armin follows along to be side by side with him and observes him suspiciously.

"Why are you acting weird?"

"Me? No, I'm not."

"Yes, you are. You're fidgeting."

"It's cold. Fall is near, remember?" Ewan puffs on his hands and rubs them together.

"Sure... Have you seen Yeosang by any chance?"

"Nope."

"Really? He's not in his dorm, though."

"Why would you go to his dorm so early in the morning?"

"I wanted to speak to him last night but he wasn't there at his usual spot in the library, so I stopped by his place this morning and he wasn't there either. Also, he didn't pick up my calls."

"Oh."

"So... Have you any idea where he is?"

"Not really."

"Then would you mind telling me why his roommate said he's over at your place?"

Ewan closes his eyes, realizing how busted he is. "I took him out on a dinner last night and he crashed in for a drink. It's nothing." He explains to his friend who stares at him in disbelief. "Armin. It's really nothing."
