*Jack's POV*

I walked back into the banquet hall, in search of Emily. If she had gone off with Daniel somewhere, I swear to God I would kill him. I saw her at the table with three empty glasses beside her.

"Emily, are you alright?" I asked her.

"Yeah, I just...miss my dad," she said. She looked to the left when she said that. That was her tell. I always knew when Emily was lying, because she could never look you directly in the eye. Most people could never tell, but I could.

"Why are you lying to me?" I asked her.

"I'm not," she said.

"Emily don't give me that crap. I know when you're lying to me," I said.

"Can we not do this here?" She said, taking a drink from another glass. I took it away from her.

"Why not? What's so bad that we can't do this in public?" I said, getting angry with her. She stood up and whispered in my ear.

"I kissed Daniel. I'm sorry. I was planning on getting drunk to forget about it, but you kind of ruined that," she said. I stood completely still, letting it soak in.

"I'm going to kill that son of a bitch," I said, trying to walk away, but Emily wouldn't let me.

"Jack, no. Not here. It wasn't entirely his fault," she said.

"You mean it was all you?" I asked her, anger welling up inside me. I needed to punch something. Soon.

"I'm just saying it takes two to tango. Maybe I led him on," she said.

"You were most definitely not leading him on. I've heard you on multiple occasions tell him that you're married. To me. So don't give me that crap about it partially being your fault," I said, looking around the room for Daniel so I could punch him.

"Jack, please. Just calm down," she said.

"I can't. He's trying to steal my wife from me. I'm not going to let that go," I said, yanking my arm out of her grip and scanning the room for Daniel.

"Jack. Stop. Cool down. Please. Think about the amount of press that's here, right now. They would have everything on camera, and then we would have to explain everything," Emily said. And all the anger flooded out of my system.

"You're right, Ems. As always," I said, turning back towards her.

"I'm sorry, Jack," she said.
