*Daniel's POV*

It was all a blur. The first baby came out quickly, and the nursery nurses took it. It was a boy. I secretly hoped it was mine.

"Who's is it?" Jack yelled after them.

"We'll need to check for you, sir, we can't tell right away," one of the nurses responded.

"Alright, Emily. Halfway there. You need to push real big for me, now," the doctor said. She pushed and screamed, tightening her grip on our hands. I felt like she was breaking my bones, but she must have been in so much more pain.

The second baby was out. It was a beautiful girl. I could tell Jack was looking at her, hoping she was his. I wouldn't have been surprised, considering he already had a little boy. I looked at the babies beside each other, then back down at Emily. Her eyes were fluttering shut.

"Is she ok?" I asked the doctor.

"She's losing too much blood," he responded. He instantly started working, and a nurse pulled me out of the room. We were followed instantly by Jack, being dragged along by another nurse.

"Is she going to be alright?" Jack asked.

"We're doing everything we can," a nurse said. They quickly went back into the room, and Jack and I were left standing outside, not knowing if Emily was alright, or which child was ours.

"She's going to be alright. She has to be," Jack said.

"I can't live without her," I said, turning to Jack. Our eyes met, and I knew instantly how much pain he was in since she had chosen me. I also saw that he still loved her.

"Listen, man, I would do anything just to be with her again. And my child. We need to build Grayson Manor back up as soon as possible, because I can't stand living away from her and my baby. Getting that phone call, the only thing I could think about was that I should have been there. I should have been in that car ride too. I missed the last three months of her pregnancy. I needed to be there. I know she didn't want me, but I still need it," he said, tears coming to his eyes.

"She's going to make it. And when she does, we'll rebuild Grayson Manor. You and Carl can have your own wing, and the twins can share a nursery. I don't care if my child is with yours. It's not that big of a deal," I said.

"Thanks man," Jack said. We stayed out there for the rest of the time in silence, while we were left to think about what could possibly be happening to Emily.
