CHAPTER 7

On the northern side.
Cesha, Casey, and Caitlyn continued their search. In the middle of their search, Cesha suddenly spoke up.

"What if we each split up to speed up our search for Mellorine?" Cesha suggested.

"No! We can't split up. This forest is vast and quite dangerous; we don't want to lose any of us," Casey objected firmly.

"Casey's right, we shouldn't separate. We don't know what could happen if we do," Caitlyn added, sounding a bit worried.

"But we'll waste too much time if we keep searching together like this!" Cesha looked at Casey and Caitlyn with a slightly frustrated expression.

"Fine, let's just split up, then." Casey ended the conversation abruptly.

The three girls then decided to go their separate ways.

On the eastern side.
Rexana and Cassandra had a bad feeling about Calystal and Mellorine as they continued their search.

"Hey, I'm really worried about them. Why did Alexa and Calystal decide to split up when we're all still concerned about Mellorine? Now we have to search for Calystal too," Rexana said, clearly irritated.

As they continued searching, they stumbled upon Calystal's necklace. They recognized it instantly as hers. They decided to take the necklace and keep it.

From a distance, Rexana and Cassandra spotted an abandoned building. They were a bit surprised to see such an old structure in the middle of the forest.

"It's strange to see an old building like this in the middle of the woods," Rexana remarked.

"Should we check out that building? It looks a bit suspicious," Cassandra said, eyeing the building cautiously.

"Wait, we can't just decide to go in there. It's just the two of us. What if something happens inside?" Rexana looked at Cassandra with a worried expression.

"But what if there are clues about Mellorine and Calystal in there?" Cassandra was also nervous about Rexana’s words but insisted on checking the building.

"Alright, there's no other choice but for us to check out that building," Rexana agreed.

The two girls entered the building.

"Let's split up to explore this place, and we'll meet back here later," Cassandra suggested, and Rexana nodded in agreement.

Rexana and Cassandra then parted ways.

*CASSANDRA'S POV

As Cassandra explored the building, she couldn't shake off a bad feeling about the place.

Suddenly, she felt a chill... She looked around, feeling as if she was being watched.

Despite the unsettling feeling, she continued her exploration.

Just a few steps later, someone suddenly hit her hard on the back of her head.

Thud!

Cassandra collapsed and lost consciousness.
