THE MYSTERY

CHAPTER 8

Rexana felt uneasy, so she returned to the spot where she and Cassandra had agreed to meet.

When she arrived, she didn’t see Cassandra.

As she waited, she felt something was off. "Why is Cassandra taking so long? What’s going on with her?" Rexana wondered to herself.

After waiting for quite a while, Rexana decided to go and search for Cassandra.

While searching, Rexana spotted someone she thought was Cassandra. But when she looked more closely, it wasn’t her. The person was wearing a mask and holding a baseball bat. "It seems there’s someone else in this building besides me and Cassandra," she thought.

Panicking, she turned around.

Crack!

Rexana accidentally stepped on a bottle under her feet. In a panic, she immediately ran back towards the villa.

Once she arrived at the villa, she ran into Caitlyn.

"Did you finish searching for Mellorine? And why are you coming back alone?" Rexana asked.

"We split up earlier, but I thought she had already returned to the villa because it’s so late," Caitlyn responded.

Seeing Rexana’s panicked expression, Caitlyn sensed that something was wrong.

"Why do you look so scared?" Caitlyn asked.

In a panic, Rexana explained everything to Caitlyn.

"When we were searching for Mellorine, we met Alexa. She said that she and Calystal had split up to search for Mellorine. Since I was worried, Cassandra and I went to look for her. While searching, we found an old building, and out of curiosity, we decided to explore it. Cassandra and I split up, but when it was time to meet back up, she didn’t show up, so I went looking for her. During my search, I saw a mysterious person besides us in the building. In a panic, I rushed back to the villa without Cassandra," Rexana explained.

"Let’s wait for the others to return so we can discuss this," Caitlyn suggested.

*POV Laurelia & Alexa

On the western side, Alexa and Laurelia, tired of waiting, decided to return to the villa.

Once they arrived at the villa, they were followed by Casey and then Cesha. Everyone who was left gathered there.

"Where are Cassandra and Calystal?" Casey asked.

Hearing this, Rexana explained what had happened earlier.

After hearing the story, Casey spoke up.

"What’s really happening here? Who is behind all this?" Casey asked, her face full of panic.

"I’m a bit suspicious because earlier today, Alexa went out around the same time Mellorine disappeared. Also, Alexa and Calystal went to search together, but why did they split up, and why did only Alexa come back? Now, where is Calystal?" Rexana accused.

"Why are you accusing me of being behind all of this? I’m just as confused as you are!" Alexa replied, defending herself.

"I agree with what Rexana said. When Rexana and Cassandra went to look for Calystal, I briefly split up with Alexa to search for Mellorine," Laurelia added.

Everyone in the room was confused by everything that was happening. With Rexana and Laurelia's argument, some of them began to suspect that Alexa might be behind all of this.

However, Casey calmed the situation. "Come on, everyone. Let’s not start accusing each other. We’re all panicking, but we need to stay calm," Casey said, trying to ease the tension.

"We can’t let this go on like this. We need to call the police," Laurelia suggested.

"But there’s no signal here," Cesha replied.

"Whether we like it or not, we have to search for them tonight. We can’t wait any longer," Casey insisted.

Everyone agreed with Casey’s suggestion.

"In that case, let’s split up to find them quickly tonight," Alexa proposed.

Without thinking further, they immediately began organizing their plan.
