Karaoke? Ugh.
You don't like karaoke, or rather, you're not going to get up and embarrass yourself in front of other people. You'll clap for your classmates because you know they'll be funny with it at least.
It's way more surprising that the teachers gave the okay for this as it's technically a party, but then again, you've never been to karaoke with any of your past classes so you don't exactly know what to expect other than what you've seen in shows.
Really, what you're quietly excited for today, is going out with Ochako and Mina to the cute bakery and café down the road before you'll head over together to the karaoke place. Mina said to think of it as a small celebration-treat for the play you wrote together. Just the female playwrights because Midoriya and Iida have gone out to meet some of their friends that graduated who are in town for the festival. You're glad it's just you girls.
You've gone once before with all your female classmates, but you weren't nearly as close with them as you are now.
That time, you sat at a corner seat quietly sipping your drink the entire time, wishing you were back home in the more addicting comfort of your phone. It was so hard to talk to them.
Now, you have to pick the perfect look for the ideal cute all-girl café date, romanticizing it to the fullest.
Liner on, eye glitter shimmering, wispy lashes blinking lightly, berry lip oil gliding juicily.
Perfect.
You even spent most of last night's hours on new nails extensions. You kept it simple - a natural, glossy base with white french tips. No charms, no rhinestones, no design...
It's a stark contrast from the usual, overly elaborate cute designs you went for, and you don't know how to feel about them yet. They're so plain compared to how you usually express yourself.
Your mouth goes flat. I guess they're okay, don't be so extra.
Going for an outfit after some time and a heap of no's on your bed, you're happy with something that goes with them: a very pretty white dress with tiny cherries all over...
I can't help it! You go for the nail stickers and glue that are still out on the floor, picking out tiny transparent crystal gems like you're bedazzling wherever you think it'd look prettier and excitedly choosing crystal-looking cherry charms for your fourth fingernails.
Now, it's perfect. Cherry nails and a cherry dress.
You haven't had the confidence or opportunity to wear this when you bought it on a whim but you decide, liking how flattering it is on you, that you feel good. You do your hair too in the most flattering style, and then accessorize the bare area above the sweetheart neckline with a dainty chain choker atop your initial necklace.
After buckling platform sandals that are easy to walk in, you admire yourself in the mirror.
Pretty, you think. It also works for the karaoke later too where a certain cute guy will be...
A small sigh escapes you as a hot blush overtakes your body. To be wishing to impress him, to capture his all undivided attention, for a quick flicker in his unchanging eyes that'd tell you what you spent so much time on.
Would he think I'm pretty?
Tugging down the ruffles below your mid-thigh and zeroing in on the fleshy top of your chest, you start overthinking on how its not something you'd usually wear around your classmates, but you can't start second guessing your appearance because the knock at your door followed by Ochako's, "It's me," means you only have time to puff out your cheeks and move your hair one more time before you're out of there with her in seconds.
