Having a crush on Bakugou Katsuki? If you think about it in a faraway realm of fantasy, the impossibility of it almost makes you laugh.
But you don't laugh. You can't laugh. These feelings that beat in your chest are completely serious. It's no wonder you'd been worrying about what you are to him, or more specifically, how important you are to him, wondering if you're any special thing to Bakugou.
You've never been important to anybody. Nobody's favorite person, never the first choice, always walking behind with only your own voice in your head. It's hard for you to open up to people but that doesn't mean you don't want to be special to someone.
The girls are nice and everything beyond, even more now that you've started putting more of an effort into taking up their invites for impromptu movie nights and dinner, but it's so draining. How can they act like they've known each other for ages? There must be a secret.
Boys are a whole different matter. You only ever talked to Koda but he's the shyest one you've ever seen. Bakugou, well, he's the easiest person you've felt comfortable around but now you've gone and ruined it by getting feelings for him. Other guys you thought didn't pay attention to you but now you know they're at least aware you exist, barely.
Unapproachable. You told Bakugou you didn't care about it, and it's true - you don't care what people who don't know you, extras as he calls them, have to say - but that doesn't stop you from feeling some sort of sad about it.
You know you aren't the most expressive, or outspoken, and you severely lack the fun social skills that make someone likable, but you wish people wouldn't judge you for that. When someone talks of you, you want them to say Y/N's so sweet.
"Mmmm this is so sweet." Toru munches on a frosted cinnamon cookie from her sandwich bag you individually brought them in, doodles of hearts and their names scribbled in black sharpie on each one. You wish you could've had a cuter presentation but that's all you had to work with.
"I didn't know you could bake," Kyouka covers her mouth as she chews. The truth is, it's the one baking recipe you're confident in, and you wanted to do everything right when you went down to the kitchen last night to make them.
You could've made these ages ago, but you thought showing up with baked goods might've looked like you were trying too hard. You've always wanted to bake something for your friends, but...yeah, you get the rest. "I'm glad you like them."
"Mike them? I lub dem!" Ochako talks with her mouth full.
You laugh at her along with the rest of the girls, surprising yourself about it. Laughing at something silly she did, sharing homemade cookies at the lunch table. You would've never thought you'd be doing this.
"Hey, wouldn't a baking contest be a good idea for the Cultural Festival?" Mina asks. "We can eat all the dessert we want if we're one of the judges."
"That means eating the ill looking ones too," Tsuyu warns.
"Then...a baking station? Where you decorate your own cupcake?"
You awe, imagining such a calm thing with charm toppers, "That'd be so cute." Last year, all you did for the class's concert was work on the stage decorations.
"Too boring," Toru crushes your dreams. "We need to do something more extra than last year."
"What's more extra than a concert?" Kyouka frowns.
"A musical!" Mina exclaims with brilliance.
No!
"Ew no," Kyouka and some others shake their head and you join the laughter towards her irked face.
