Cuddly Night - Ziall - Hybrid!Niall

Zayn sighed softly, glad to finally be home from work. He was a tattooist and just spent his twelve hour shift working on someone's back. It was a very complex design and his hand was aching from the constant grip of the tattoo gun and the bad habit of his stiff wrist while he worked.

Using his non-dominant hand, he awkwardly unlocked and opened the door. And just like everyday after work, his cat hybrid, Niall ran from wherever he was in the flat to welcome Zayn home. Closing the door with his foot, he dropped his bag and kicked off his shoes.

And as soon as he was empty handed and shoeless, he was slammed against the door by a familiar blonde. "Oof!" Zayn grunted before letting out a soft laugh and wrapping his arms around him. "Hello, Niall," He said softly, rubbing Niall's back as the hybrid gripped onto him.

"You're back," Niall said fondly, nuzzling his face into Zayn's neck lovingly, taking deep exhales of Zayn's scent. "I'll always come back home to you. You know that," Zayn whispered, knowing Niall's abandonment issues, thanks to his previous owner leaving him at the shelter.

Niall just hummed and squeezed onto Zayn's lean frame tighter, his tail coming to wrap around Zayn's leg. "Let me take a shower and change so we can cuddle and watch a film, yeah?" Zayn suggested, moving a hand up to stroke Niall's ear. Niall let out a cute cat sound before pulling back with a kiss to Zayn's cheek and a small smile on his face. "You smell like ink and that funny stuff Louis smells like sometimes," Niall said softly, making Zayn snicker.

Louis was his childhood best friend and coworker, who had two hybrids of his own, Harry and Liam. The "funny stuff" Niall was talking about was most likely catnip or marijuana, as Louis was a stoner and sometimes gave his hybrids catnip on rare occasions.

"So, I smell bad?" Zayn chuckled, making Niall tilt his head to the side slightly. "It's not a bad smell. It used to be, but you always come home smelling like this, so I've gotten used to it." Niall's response made Zayn laugh and shake his head affectionately. "Now, go bathe. I want cuddles," Niall shooed him towards the stairs.

Zayn did so, and while he was halfway done, he heard Niall begin to pluck his guitar. He smiled as he heard the beautiful sound of Niall's voice duet the sound and he couldn't help but stay still, listening as the water pattering against the tile gave a steady beat.

When he finally got out of the shower and dried off and got dressed, Niall still sang his heart out as his fingers played the strings of his guitar. Opening the door, he saw Niall sitting on the bed, playing his guitar, singing a beautiful melody.

"You're beautiful, Niall," Zayn said softly, making Niall's ears perk up as he turned to face Zayn. "Shut up," Niall mumbled, a blush appearing on his face as he stopped playing his guitar and set it beside the bed.

Zayn smiled and moved to sit on the bed, and as soon as he did, Niall climbed into his lap, straddling him, eager for his cuddles. The man cooed at the hybrid as he shifted to lie down on the bed.

A small, gentle purring noise started to erupt in the room. No matter how many times Zayn has heard the sound from Niall before, it never failed to bring a smile to his face. Wanting to hear it louder, Zayn reached up and started to scratch Niall's ears. His attempt was more than successful, as the sound got ten times -- if not a hundred times louder.

"Mmnn," Niall hummed in content, nuzzling and snuggling closer to Zayn as much as he could, trying to bring himself as close as physically possible. Sure, Zayn felt like a was being squished and squeezed, but he didn't mind. This wasn't the first nor the last time Niall will do this, and he's learned to love the feeling.

Zayn kissed Niall's forehead, making the hybrid giggle. "I love you, Niall," Zayn whispered. "I love you, too, Zayn," Niall whispered back.
